Default New Dyno Numbers with LS1 Air Lid w/ VID!

Before I installed my LS1 Air Lid setup I had the Stock 97 LT1 Ram Air SS Intake...I dyno'd with that setup and the results were:

    401 RWHP/373 RWTQ

I installed my LS1 Air Lid about 4 months ago and since then noticed a significant gain in torque, but wasnt sure how much...I dyno'd my car today and here are the new numbers:

    411 RWHP/390 RWTQ

the ONLY difference in the 2 runs was the LS1 Air Lid. No engine/drivetrain changes. This was with an SLP Air Lid and K&N Filter.

    I gained 10 RWHP and 17 RWTQ.

Same Dyno, Same Operator, and temp was 5 degrees cooler than previous dyno.

Track numbers will have to wait until next season though Sorry guys.

Great gains! How much work is involved in completing this conversion?

I see it in the video, but is there any chance you could post up a copy of the old and new dyno graphs overlayed? Thanks!

    Wooshie:

I did do the OBD1 Conversion and I am very happy with it! The ease of tuning and the price was MUCH better

    ScreaminRedZ:

It takes QUITE A BIT of work to do this, but I think it is VERY well worth it, if not for performance, at LEAST the apperance! Here is a write-up I did for my setup:

As for the overlayed dyno graphs, I can try...worse comes to worse I can post a pic of each. Will work on that tomorrow tho

Has any firebird owners had luck with this conversion? I know the Ram Air LT1 intake is best, but obviously the hood is needed to make it work. But the firebirds have always had a lower hood line than the camaros.

I think with the firebirds if you have a ram air hood all you have to do is mount it back about an inch farther, but i dont know that anybody has been successful with the stock hood or not.
