    Default Screw VATs

When you tune your car, be smart and go ahead tune it out.
That way your car can't screw you when you need it most and leave you stranded for a week or two.

    Thats all

    yea...vats can suck balls.
if you're concerned about theft, just hide an auxiliary fuel pump switch or battery disconnect somewhere clever.

You do know that tuning out the VATS is only part of the solution to bypassing it, right? The theft deterrent relay will still keep you from engaging the starter if you have a key resistor problem. So, tuning only won't keep you from being stranded in that situation (which is the most common). The TDR would have to be bypassed, as well. Of course, it should be considered that doing both of those things leaves your car more theft prone.

Thats fine about it being more theft prone.

The damn bypass doesn't work. We think maybe the brain of it is messed up. Either way my friend is stuck, he has no ride to go anywhere and that is his only car. He keeps the car pretty well protected and lives in good areas and never takes it anywhere shady. He just wants to be able to get from point A to point B.

He turns on the key and the security light just blinks, it doesnt stay solid. Starter won't engage, motor dont turn over.
    Anyone have any other ideas?
I guess if it was VATs bypass can only fix it if it stays on solid without it being blinking.
