dumb question but need interior removal help

ok i know this is really dumb question but i wanna get this out before the car goes to the scrap yard.. how do i get the ebrake handle and button off the lever off my 93 t/a?? i took the screw out and i thought i was like the 3rd gen one where it just slides off but it just wont come off.. feels like its on a spring.. ive pulled and pulled. but it just wont come off..and does the button even come off?

Pull it up, there is a rivet hole on the inside part by the console. Drill that rivet out and the handle will slide off. Then just put it back on using a screw (like the 3rd gen cars did.)
