I would have bet money on who was the cheap one.
with no overhead prices come way down. Keep in mind that when an engine is done right, cylinders are honed to pistons you have, not a generic bore. Sometimes its best to research who is doing your build.
1996 camaro Z28, Clayton racing 398, Rossler TH350 rmvb with brake, FTI billet race converter 4400, Dana S60 with 4.10's, 300 shot, Accel DFI controlled, UMI, Spohn, PA racing, QA1's, Baer brakes, 325/45/17 M&H, Caged, Corbeau's, Simpson, etc.
From zero to fuck yeah in 3 seconds.

Mike, 700 sounds like a pretty good deal. I would have said about 1200.00 since your block has already been clearanced and just needed cleaning, reassemble and fill.

IM getting a good deal for the work done but its not gonna be that cheap. Thats Ok Im not looking for the cheapest job and this is what Im having done.
De-plug block, tap front galleys if not already done,
remove cam bearings,
wash and fill 1/2 way (including price of filler),
hone cylinders minimum with deck plate-,
re-balance,
pin fit rods and pistons and check large end and hone if nessessary,
Assemble short,
mount pistons on rods,
check oil clearance (mains and rods) and file fit rings,
Install splayed caps,
align bore and align hone mains,
steel top rings.
Should be a nasty shortblock

Why are you going with a steel top ring instead of a moly top ring???

Should be a retard for sure. Will you be going with LE3 heads for this or aftermarket?

After talking with LE he doesnt think its worth going to LE3s, Says there will only be a few HP gain with a stock intake and maybe 15hp if I did a Vic Jr or super vic.
My Engine Builder wants steel top rings, says he has seen moly come apart. He is Z8s builder also and If hes building the fastest LT1 in the world Ill take his word on what rings to use.
Dropped everything off at Speedinc last friday.
