Man this would be an awesome competition. It would be cool to read about it, but even better as a tv special(hint hint)

How would you enforce the 700 mile ride? I mean, someone could just tow the car 600+miles in an enclosed trailer, then unload it 100 miles out from the track. There would have to be checkpoints along the way and even those could be faked by unloading/loading the car up at each point. I think the "true street" class does a good job of deciding what exactly a STREET CAR is with their 35 mile ride. I think they could add 2 small elements to it though. Have the cars sit on pavement at an idle for 5 minutes with the hood down and just the fans pushing air right after the 35 mile ride. Then have them shut off and start back up within 30 seconds. A lot of guys would cringe as they watch the temp gauge go up into the 210-220 range, lol.

First, Colin and I are not two strangers who are trying to take advantage of each other in the competition.... I dont know that the (bull run) style check point would work, however there is an element of honesty and honor that I think we would both obide by..... And I disagree that a 35 mile ride depicts what we are trying to depict. Street car is such a vague statement, and I believe ANYTHING can pull off 35-50 miles as long as their fuel cell is large enough...... However a 700 plus mile drive (one way) and the ability to NOT break during the race, then another 700 mile drive home... I believe that is a true (to the extreme) street car...

And the temp guage element.. Unles I run my AC, my car WONT go over 180-185..... so Im in.... lol
