    Default A couple questions I need answered.

    I am doing a cam swap and I have decided to go with the Gm846. I am having problems locating a place to buy it from. I looked on gm_parts_direct and found what I think is it, but I don't know if it has the long dowel pin I need. Does anyone know of a place I could get one for sure will work with the LT1?

    Also, can anyone give me a write-up on how to do the LS1 Lid conversion? I have looked around and have only found one useful thread about it. Has anyone else found anything else about it?

    Thanks for all the help.

    Crane actually makes the 846 if im not mistaken. Crane (Part# 109831). Search for it and you may find it somewhere cheaper than gm parts. It should have the dowel pin on it.

    All the dowl pins on the LT1 cams are long so they can fit the vented opti, to fit non vented you need to trim them slightly.. Had to trim my CC305, CC306 and the LT4 hot cam..

    Yes, you can trim the dowel yourself. Its not very hard.

    Search around on some sponsors sites or look in some For Sale sections of some sites, lots of off the shelf cams can be found cheap.

    That cam is very close to the cc503 and i know you can find one of them used for real cheap, if you cant find the 846.

    I believe you are thinking about the 847. The Gm 846 is a good bit smaller than the cc306, and may be a little smaller than the 503 if i can remember correctly.

    GM846 = CC305 and GM847 = CC306 more or less.
