that Allison isn't gonna take that much power stock. you're gonna need a Suncoast trans to hold those power levels. they've been known to go into limp mode at 100bhp over stock on a LB7 Duramax, so 400bhp and it's limping. that goes for all the Allison auto's that you're gonna find in the 3/4 and 1 ton GM trucks.
my dream car:
1973 Porsche 914/6
2.7L flat 6 from the '73 Carrera RS, straight-piped of course
full widebody kit stuffed with 265/40/15's at all 4 corners
it wouldn't be the fastest in a straight line, but i'd be able to pass a Lotus Exige mid corner on the OUTSIDE of the turn

I too wanted a tri five chevy. I happened to have purchased a 56 150 2 door. It was not a too rusty of a shell but it was a shell with a drivetrain and all the glass. I gave 4 grand for it about 4 years ago. I am still debating what to do. I have a few drivetrain options. The chassis and interior are gonna be pricey. No matter what you do with one, the 55-56-57 chevy always seems to be a good investment for a car. THey always do well at auctions like Barret jackson.
here it is sitting... waiting....
