Its been awhile I may have pulled the fuse too I forget. Shoebox has his own site and is supposed to be a guru. Don't blame the other site about misinformation if its wrong though....

There's no need to be defensive.

It was on ls1lt1 that I was told this information, by many of the members there including ShoeBox...

Anything obd1 does not need a tune for the emissions. Egr or air. Mine is long gone on both cars one has a tune for and the other doesn't. I have no check engine light on the one that doesn't.

So no tune needed to pass emissions. Or what ever if you remove one of the two. I mean if you remove the egr with out a good tune you won't pass emissons though.

See ob2 does self checks of the egr valve not sure about the air pump. Where ob1 does not. The computer just commands what ever on. The air pump can be removed. But the egr would need the solenoid still there. Or it will set a light that way. But all you have to do is cap the line off it that would go to the egr.

If you want to make it all clean and get rid of all the junk on the intake you can. Then a tune will be needed.

I think I was the one that told evil this. lol So no need to get all bent out of shape gtp. If you want prove watch my vid's no light at all. That is the one with out a tune. I think if you pull the fuse it will though. Not sure I still have mine in. Just zip tied the wires up and out of the way.
