Your sound setup
I have always wondered what other people use to listen to music? Me, I'm all out, even NOT using speakers unless I have to, and when I am using headphone stuff, I go vintage/retro/modern mix on it.

This is my setup, on my computer, since I make music here too. I use a special vacuum tube amp (seen on the right), which is a USB soundcard too. I could connect my headphones to that directly, but you see those big chrome Pioneer headphones? They are 43 years old! Those old headphones use low impedance, we don't do that anymore, thus I would have no bass plugging it into anything that takes modern headphones. That's what the big Onkyo amp is for, the tube amp acts as a preamp, feeds my Onkyo, which powers it with LOTS of high current, to drive the old headphones, and at the same time, giving me that warmth of tubes, and powerful sound on 43 year old headphones.
I LOVE my audio setup, and am serious about it. Anyone who foolishly knocks it should come over and listen for them selves.

I do basically the same setup as you, My computer through a stereo and I ether have my studio headphones or I have 2 6x9 car speakers and a 100watt crate bass amp that blew our fuse box the first time I used it.
I listen to mainly country
second spot goes to Techno/Dance
Then Rock/Alternative

I don't have any pics but my PC is hooked to my insignia 5.1 receiver and i have 2 KLH 8 inch front speakers (got the speakers for $20 for the pair at best buy on clearance) and 2 rear 5 inchers which were also on clearence. A PC subwoofer, a center channel which is actually just one of 2 speakers i use for a front center and a rear center although i don't have the rear hooked up right now due to space, and my 27" TV is hooked up to it all as well. basically i share the surround sound between my PC and my TV.

If you're using surround sound on your computer, I hope you have it hooked up for such.
A lot of people think the regular audio cable is enough, that cable only handles 2 channels, not 6 (5 plus subwoofer). For that you need the many analog cables or ONE digital cable..
