Thread: help with fitment and tires c5s

I test fitted Finnv3's wheels on my car before he bought them. I used washers as spacers and just kept on stacking them until the wheel fit without needing to sand on the axle or inner hub of the wheel. Came out to be 1/4" on my car. You could always sand the wheel hub, but then its cutting it awfully close to the bumpstop. IMO I'd NEVER go much above a 1/4" spacer without getting nice ones from Skulte. I'd get a set of 1/4" Trans-Dapt spacers that sell for $15 on Summit's site. 1" would be WAY too much and put you sticking out the wheelwell. Fronts fitted no problems. For tires, stock C5 vettes use a 245/35/17 front and 275/40/18 rear. Took these wheels to a local tire shop (I'm friends with the manager) and he did some looking and recommended a 245/40/17 front and 275/35/18 rear. I like a little more sidewall than that, so I settled on looking for a 285 or 295/35/18.
I sold them to Finnv3after realizing that I need some 315s for what I want to do
, a 17 would give me a little more sidewall and DRs are easier to find also.
Hope that helps.

I beleive you have been assisted in this, i have had c5 wagon wheels,c5 thin bars and now the c6s...
The ONLY rim that requires a bunch of extra spacing would be the c6s thats the 1.25" spacer/adapters...The other c5 wheels only need 3/8 spacer that will be found at PeP Boys for 7.99 ea. i will suggest you go to the dealer and instal the wheel studs from the c5 out back since they are 10mm longer.
There has been NO guess work in the answers i have given i already know what works properly and safely.....Do purchase anadj. panhard bar to make the rear centered especially if the car is lowered....In addition hub-centric is not mandatory for these small sizes, hell i had 3" on my s10 w/17x11 GS wheels NO HUB-CENTRIC adapters....you will be fine
