    Default Lights pulsing...

When I'm in my car I turn my dome lights on, they pulse and flicker a lot, seems to be in sync with the amp gauge because the amp gauge bounces a little when I drive or have the car on at all. what could cause my amps to fluctuate?

Are you referring to the voltmeter in the dash? Do the light flicker the same when the engine is off? What happens to the brightness when you rev the motor with the dome light on?

Do you have a system in your car? If so, you should probably find a better ground for it.

If not, it could be the alternator or the battery. You can go to any parts store and have them both checked. Actually, some places can check both of them without you having to take them out.

theres a system, but it's not on, no stereo right now. and the lights only flicker when car is on. all my lights flicker and pulse, dome, gauges, headlights...all. and i can hear my fuel pump's buzz fluctuate in sync with the lights.

Wow that's an awfully weird one. I'd try checking/charging the battery and getting the alternator checked out. If that doesn't lead you to anything, it sounds very similiar to a bad ground, which could become a very big headache.

i was having a similar problem a few weeks ago, along with what seemed to be a starter on its last legs (sounded really weak, although it always started the car) and my volt gauge seemed to be reading a bit low. it turned out to be a loose connection at the positive terminal on the battery. a simple tightening of the pos cable fixed it.

Have you checked the battery terminals to make sure they are tight? I didn't even think of that, lol.

Sorry, but I don't have any schematics anywhere.

well i noticed something else while I was in the parking lot, before I turned my car off. the volt gauge jumps a lot more when the car is in drive than it does it park.

    In drive:
