One of our well known LS1 friends on the site has a fancy 2002 SS. It has a decent (not huge, but decent) lump stick, some gears, a good rear end, tires, some bolt ons, and a snazzy DLR tune.
He lined his rolling sex bucket up against a buddy of ours' 00-ish Z28 equipped with an LS6 hot cam with LS6 springs, shady 853 heads, a set of 3.73s in his 10 bolt, some bolt ons, a good tire, and a 3600ish stall on a nitrous tune.
