10's in street trim
Buddy of mine with a H/C LS1 Camaro called me out not too long ago for some Test &Tune runs at Englishtown. The weather didn't cooperate too well the past few weeks but yesterday was beautiful. Everyone else thought the same so it was pretty crowded. I only got 3 runs in from 630 to almost 11PM. I tossed the 16" stock 5 spoke wheels with MT DRs (255/50) on the car, drove to work and then hit the track. Car had zero weight reduction and I even had my laptop, some tools and a change of clothing in the trunk. Car weighed 4200lbs with me in it. My buddy and I arrived at different times so it was difficult to run one another.
First run I bogged thinking the track wouldn't really hook for a test and tune night. I matted the throttle and it pulled the car out the bog which led to a 10.9 @133 run with a fantastic (
) 1.93 60'. 1/8 mile mph was in the 103 range. The audio isn't sync'd with the video for some reason. I tried it on two different computers and same result.
The second run was similar to the first but I spun rather than bogged to a 2.0 60'. I briefly jumped out of the throttle and got back in it to run a 11.0 @133. 1/8th mile MPH was 105 which was a new best.
The third and final run was versus a Gen 2 CTSV. I lowered the tire pressure but no dice on the launch. Spun harder this time and had to jump out of it to gain traction. Worst ET of the night but best MPH at 135.
Overall I had a great time driving to the track, racing and headed home with a 10 sec times slip. I'm organizing a 3rd annual track rental for the NJFBOA this winter and I fully intend on setting a new best.Last edited by blackbirdws6; 06-06-2013 at 06:15 PM.
