I'm in the process of installing FAST Classic on my 94 LT1 383 w/ direct port nitrous. I'm currently running a MSD Opti for spark and want to install a MSD 8" crank trigger for signal. Anyone in here running this combo or a different combo? Just like to make sure this is the way togo before I commit to buying a $300.00 trigger ?
I am running FAST XFI 2.05 with a MSD crank trigger, MSD digital 6, and MSD pro billet small cap distributor converter for use as a cam sync. It seems to work well. You would have the opti as the cam sync instead of the rear distributor so it would work the same. Just make sure you have good engine to chassis grounds and ground straps to reduce noise from the sensor and you should be good to go.

I had a FAST classic EFI on my LT1. Used the Optispark signal, no crank trigger. It ran bank-to-bank injection since I didn't have a crank signal but it worked well.
I running a B2B also, How did you determine what wires to use off the Opti ? What did you use for TPS, my OEM is a 3 wire but my FAST harness is a two wire ?
The wires to use were listed in the instructions I received. I was using the OEM TPS.
I'll see if I can find the instructions next time i step into the shop.

GuillaumeC, any chance you found the wiring diagram you used for your Opti without a trigger. I'm at the point where I don't know if I should just remove the FAST and go back to my OEM or not. I bought a crank trigger but would prefer to run without it if possible. I don't understand where the 4 OPTI wires need to hook too. I'm running a Crane DIS-4 ignition. Unfortunately I do not have any instructions with mine to reference. And clearly wiring is not my specialty but have some common knowledge( I think)!

It doesnt use all the wires on the opti, it uses only the low-res signal as a cam signal to run B2B EFI. I think the ECU needs to be set up for use with an optispark. I had sent mine to Comp and they changed it for free, I just payed for shipping. The guy at Comp that helped me was Robin Poole rpoole@compcams.com , he got mine set up for LT1 and sent me a config file for use with my O2 sensor.

FAST is 90% complete, just waiting for my ATI balancer to come tomorrow so I can install the crank trigger. Next will be the fuel system install with a new sumped tank.
