The shiny circular ones work best in my experience.
What bore, stroke, heads and gaskets?
Just the factory style.5.7 factory 4.00 bore with Victor Reinz head gaskets, head are cut .20.
If your not boring it why replace the pistons? the factory mahle's are pretty darn good. if they aren't damaged Id clean them up and reuse them.
I was wanting to have all new parts in this engine.
then you should have it bored to get a fresh and proper clearances, if you put new pistons in an old bore the clearances will not be correct and you could end up with piston slap on cold starts. if the engine block is not scored and the pistons have no damage, then new pistons are a waste of money, I'd inspect the bores and pistons really good and run a glaze breaker through the cylinders to get a fresh sealing surface and re use the originals.
if your dead set on having new pistons then I would consider getting the block bored for a proper piston skirt clearance.
I just got the block back from the machine shop.He took care of everything on that end.Im just looking for piston info.I got a hold of LLoyd and he helped me take care of.

0.026" head gasket and -5 to -7cc flat tops, but make sure they at LEAST as light as stock, but shoot for lighter. Either way, if you put in new pistons, you need a rebalance for $200-300. And get ones for 1.5/1.5/3mm rings, not the bigger sbc rings.
i wouldn't replace them though. It's not really a "wear" item.
JAY,sorry Ive not got back to you.My buddy and me,its over at Hav-its in Virgie.Come over and look at whats going on.Im basically doing the whole car.Everything thats wrong with it will be fixed. From window motors to valve stem in the tires!!!!
