i was reading my NRA mag and i saw a story about a episode of FRONTLINE a show i normally enjoy called Gunned Down.....
the producers apparently anti-gun.

The Luby's Cafeteria massacre reinforces my belief that I will carry even into businesses with signs posted. Only place I won't are govt. buildings. Fortunately I have yet to see any such signs posted in the area of my residence.

The NRA can suck eggs. I give and join local state groups instead.
The following is what made me drop my membership.
Their mag is always behind the information curve, and the fun articles have become as boring and yuppie as field and stream.
They did not help support a New possible governor who promised to fully repeal the SAFE act in NY.
They continually support RINOS give them A ratings ect.
Wayne Lapiere seems to be missing his testicles.

Their shooting range is the bee's knees though!

i hear ya nothing is perfect. without the NRA Gore would have been president....you can't deny that they have done MUCH for gun owners more than any other organization.
Frontline pointed out a few good facts about the NRA when they were BASHING honest Americans. i like that the most powerful lobbyist is the NRA.

If you haven't heard already, via executive order, Obama is threatening to ban a certain 5.56 round that is now classified as armor piercing. Of course, the media and neckbeards believe the ban is on all 5.56 therefore once again you are going to see prices go up and supply become non-existent.

True gore *could have been.
The most powerful lobbyist is the NRA because of its members. Period.
I skipped through the vids, nothing all that interesting IMO.

The NRA has done alot, it needs new leadership, badly. Its like their only concern is anything on a federal level. They need to win bog in states like NY and CA(micro-stamping) to help new unconstitutional precedents from being set. Because it is a slippery slope.
I hate to say it but I will probably not re-up my membership. I was going to spend the coin to be a lifetime member, glad i didn't.

Its like saying you cant use certian types of ink or paper or no TVs, and applying it to the 1st amendment.

You wont see prices go up, they will keep coming down until something else major happens.

I can't believe the anti gun idiots think this will save any lives. They use the excuse that the m855 in a pistol will penetrate body armor is a joke. Obviously the idiots at the ATF must not have ever heard of a Thompson contender. They have some 40+ different caliber barrels available and most are rifle calibers larger than the .223/5.56 Hell just think what a 30/06AP would do to body armor. Lets not forget the S&W 500 with a 350gr bullet it has 2,250 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle. The m855 only has 1,250 ft/lbs at the muzzle.

They have been dropping everywhere, just like the AR15 bubble has burst so has ammo prices.
Every couple weeks when i check reloading supplies I check ammo prices as well and they have been getting cheaper.

I am talking about the prices of the AP compared to regular ammo. The prices of AP jumped. Regular ammo has been doping since a republican senate has been elected.
Prices are almost as low as when obummer took office in 08.

That's the whole point of the ban, if a pea shooter can defeat body armor what will something bigger do? Ban that too.
You don't even need armor piercing to defeat "body armor" most 100 + year old hunting cartridges will defeat most armor.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives on Thursday raised new concerns about surplus military ammo used in popular AR-15 rifles and pistols just days after pulling back on a proposal to ban the ammo because it could threaten police safety.
In a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing, ATF Director B. Todd Jones said all types of the 5.56 military-style ammo used by shooters pose a threat to police as more people buy the AR-15-style pistols.

"Any 5.56 round" is "a challenge for officer safety," he said. Jones asked lawmakers to help in a review of a 1986 bill written to protect police from so-called "cop killer" rounds that largely exempted rifle ammo like the 5.56 because it has been used by target shooters, not criminals.
His agency's move to ban the 5.56 M855 version was condemned by the National Rifle Association and majorities in the House and Senate and as a result was pulled back though not abandoned. At the hearing Jones said that nearly 90,000 comments on the proposal were received, many negative.
As a result, he said that the ATF will suspend rewriting the "framework" used to exempt armor piercing ammo from sale or use. "It probably isn't going to happen any time soon," he said. Jones also said, "We are not going to move forward." The NRA and some 52 senators said they feared that the ATF move was an Obama administration bid for gun control targeted at the AR-15.

It's more about the easy concealment of AR-15 "pistols" which has an alleged concern. Banning all AR ammunition will supposedly make police safer even though statistics show little-to-no criminal activity involves that specific rifle or caliber. It's one of those issues of where do you draw the line. The Ferguson cops were shot by a pistol at over 100 yards away. Will there now be new found concern regarding pistol ammunition being a danger to police?

Jones’ resignation will be effective at the end of March.

According to The Hill, Jones used the announcement of his resignation to push back against critics of the ATF who have came out in droves against the agency’s unsuccessful attempt to ban the M855 round:

I have seen firsthand their extraordinary commitment to combating violent crime, ridding the streets of criminals, and leveraging all available resources to keep our communities safe. On February 15 Breitbart News reported the ATF was proposing a ban of popular M855 rounds for AR-15 rifles. Two weeks later, Breitbart pointed to a New York Times‘ article showing the ban had been in the works for years. Then, on March 5, Breitbart reported that although the ATF claimed the ban would keep police officers safe, police organizations–like the Fraternal Order of Police–said the ban was not necessary.

On March 10 Breitbart News reported that the ATF halted the ban, announcing that they had received over 80,000 comments from the public and political office holders, the vast majority of which opposed the ban.

The Hill reported that just prior to the ATF’s decision to halt the ban, 53 Republican Senators sent a letter to Jones saying: “Second Amendment rights require not only access to firearms, but to bullets.”
