Help with suggestions for my Supercharger build

Well guys and girls I'm gathering stuff to build a supercharged LT1 for my 1993 Camaro. I upgraded the rear and tranny this year and now I want more power. It's addicting. :D. Tick stage 3 Viperized tranny and a Strange S60 with 4:10's TrueTrac spiral gear locker and 35 spline axles. 3" chromoly driveshaft and currently a Spec stage 2plus clutch. I apologize for all the questions. Been searching searching and searching and figured it would be quicker to ask the experts on here. I want a fast bad ass car. Not a daily driver but I do drive it on the street and attend car cruises/shows.

Here's what I have so far with questions:

LT1 Vortech V1 S trim setup. Came with the crane HI6 Digital and boost control timing control 8 rib pulleys. I believe 6.66 CS and 3.5 on head unit. I would like to get in the 10-12lb boost range. I know there a lot of variables that can affect boost and no two engines are alike. I'm sure I'll get there once its built and start playing with things.

My current ignition is all MSD with Digital 6 plus box. Should I just buy the MSD BTM add on box or switch to the crane box.

Shortblock: LT1 block .030 over, billet splayed caps, ARP fasteners, Eagle forged stroker crank (383), Eagle forged H beam rods (5.7), Clevite H series bearings, and SRP forged flat top pistons. Should I replace the pistons with dished ones? I will be running IC and meth injection.

Looking for suggestions on heads. I currently have stock LT1 heads that have a stage 2 port, polish and bowl blending done to them with Comp beehive springs, stock valves. Think these will work or should I upgrade? If so, suggestions on what's good for forced induction.

Current cam: Thunder racing 230/236 .544/.555 (1.6 rockers) 112LSA. double roller TC. Will this work or upgrade? I like the thumping and power range plus I feel it's street friendly. Just not sure how it will work with a supercharger.

Stock ported intake with 58mm TB, 36lb injectors, Accel adj FP. Racetronixfuel pump with Hotwire kit. I'm guessing I'll need to do the dual fuel pump setup but how do you know what size injectors to go with?

Intercooler: FMIC or air to water?? Looking at CX racing air to water setup. Anyone use one of these?

I also have a stage 3 Snow Performance meth kit to install.

Tuning: I live in central PA and will need someone to tune. I currently have a chip tuned by PCMFORLESS. I'm willing to tow it there if I have to but would like to find someone closer that can do speed density. Any suggestions?

Didn't have time to read it all but I have some srp -31cc pistons I'll sell cheap.

I'm not the greatest with a blower but depending on your power goals I'd go 60lb-80lb injectors and a dual pump setup on a hobbs switch.

I had an A2A because its simple and meth will cool the air also.

I have no clue about the cam but the same rule applies to heads as anything, the more they flow the better.

If I'm correct that should put me around 9:1 CR with stock heads and gaskets. Are these for 5.7 rod and .030 over. Just double checking. PM me your "cheap" price please. :D

Funny how we have the exact same pistons. I've had these for 3 months or so and just looked at them last night. They're a great boost piston, just wasn't what I was going for. If they don't sell I guess I'll have to build a boosted 383 lol

All this boost talk makes me want to just build my car for boost instead of waiting lol good luck man

S Trim should be good for the boost you are looking for, but remember, the bigger the porting, the more it will take to make boost.

Stick to the MSD and just get the BTM

Definitely have to replace the pistons, calculate you chamber CC vs the head gasket thickness vs the dish of the piston to get your final compression, I suggest stay in the low 9's, for that boost, I run 9.4.1

Depending on who ported them, those will work also..I ran stock LT4 ported and made 722 RWHP

That cam will work with a supercharger, I ran a 240/244 when I was supercharged, Depending on you horsepower goals this should be ok.

Injectors are way too small, you will need a minimum of 60lb, there is a way to calculate the injector size, forgot the site. I ran 60's the first time @ 12lbs and yes you will need the dual pumps, The Racetronix, depending on what size it is with the hot wire kit might get you by.

A2A is fine for what you are looking for, I have the CX A2A and so far no problems, then again I dont have many miles and only 5 passes.

Moehorsepower, I just saw your reply. Thought I would get a notice if someone replied. My bad. Anyway I appreciate you taking time to respond. Lot of good Advice and info. Purchased a set of -31cc pistons off of a member on here. I just Purchased a set of Trick Flow heads (195X) for $750. Plan on sending them to LE for his magic and get a custom cam from him. I'm This far into it I might as well keep going. I'm thinking of using different pistons now. These pistons and heads would put me in the 8.75 range. I'm thinking -24cc. Prob use FelPro gaskets. Thoughts?

Boost = cometic gaskets... sucks to spend the extra money but I blew two felpro gaskets at 7psi. Lol

Which fel-pro gaskets were you running? I'm at 11-12# and using the 1074.

I was going to go with the FP 1074's. I can get them at cost through work. Maybe I should spend the money for the cometics. I only want to hopefully do this once. Do it right the first time.

I'm sure for the most cases the felpros would be fine. Mine had a couple clean runs during tuning so I'm sure that didn't help. Thankfully when I had to change mine out I didn't have head studs so I didn't have to pull the motor. Not all of us have the engine bay of a truck like that Monte. Haha

Quench is very important in these motors you can leave a lot of power on the table if it is too much. As far as injectors go I would go as big as you can so you aren't wasting money. I would shoot for close to 9.5 to 1 unless you want to run some crazy boost, even then high boost can be with even with higher comp with right fuel and tune.

On a n/a engine quench is very important. On a boosted setup, quench becomes almost nonexistent due to the necessity of dished pistons.

I purchased some -31cc pistons to use with stock ported heads, but recently came across a set of TickFlow 195's for a hell of a deal. Plans are to send to Lloyd for him to do his magic. These have 64cc chambers so I should end up in the 8.5-8.9 :1 range depending on gasket thickness. I have a meth kit and I'm planning on using a FMIC setup. I'm debating on going with -26cc pistons to bring compression up to 9.5:1 area since I'll be running the meth injection. Just bought a set of 80lb injectors off a member on here. This site has been great to get deals on used parts. A lot of members have helped me out. Outstanding group of people on here that are willing to help out the LT crowd. Hands down the best sight I've been on.

I know you got a hell of a deal on the pistons. If you can work it out to land at 8.9-9.0:1 with what you have I would just let it bump. Tell Lloyd what you have and go from there. Let him get his hands on the heads so he can see if they've been milled in the past, this can all work to your favor. I'm at 8.5:1 and I can comfortably run pump gas @12# with no meth and I suspect at that low of compression I would be good for more. Unless its a max effort build I think what you have is going to work great

Fastbird_1995 you make good point on heads being milled. Never gave that a thought. I could have him mill some off to get me where I want to be too. Good point! Thanks!

Run cometics and forget it. they are worth the price, time and effort..

Don't anyone use the SCE copper gaskets anymore? And they are reusable also as long as you put some dowls in...but they don't tell you to use the copper sealer vs the blue......we had tried to get the blue ones to seal 3 times which was a biotch. Then someone seen what we were doing and asked what our problems was and said yeah blue sealer is crap. Tried the copper sealer and first time sealed. Heat cycled and never have had a leak and that was back in 2002.

But I did the firewire and had the block grooved is why I went copper gaskets and cometics weren't out then either.
