Thought u folks may like to see the carbed LT1 work in progress. Motor is AI heads,cam 355 topped off with a GM perf intake and a 840 Pro Systems Holley HP carb. Trans is a Jakes turbo 350 with Jegs 9.5 converter spinning a 1967 Camaro 12 bolt fitted with a Moser spool, 4:10 gears and c clip eliminators. Still need to conceal the under hood wires along with about a hundred other details that never seem to end.
HELL YEAH.... been waiting for this since I saw it on our fb page when I first took that over.

Love the 2nd gens! I had an '80 Z28 myself. It was white like yours but with red stripes. Looked real nice until it got rear-ended lol.
Sweet looking Z! Reminds me of the white 80 Z28 my dad had when I was a kid. :) (but without the built engine lol)

I used to see one very much like this one back in the day and the guy who owned it went to high school with me and I think he played on the Football team, car was all stock and only like 5 years old at the time.

Looks real good. What brand of headers are you running and what size are the primary tubes?
Thanks Silver78, the headers are Dynatech with 1.75 inch tubes. Fit is awesome. I have used them on other projects and love the flange design they use.
Is this camaronup.and running/driving yet?

It is, I just bought a DUI dist made for the motor and removed the MSD box and Accel dist. Runs great but seems rich at idle. Carb was also custom made for the motor but I think it may be too big at 840cfm.

Thanks, I will try like hell to get it to the shootout. I have no idea what she will run but it feels very strong. The Trans Am is the next AI project, nothing crazy just heads, cam bolt on car.
very nice....A early model body with late model drivetrain might have to be my next project. I am thinking 68-72 Chevelle.
I'd agree on the 840 cfm for a 355 cid motor being on the high side. Unless your really spinning the motor into high rpms. The idle circuites probably don't have the air speed to function properly there for the rich idle. A moded 750 cfm would probably be a good starting point I think.

Changed the carb to a Edelbrock 750 and man did that wake it up. Feels awesome can't wait to hit the track. Holley was too
big and was bogging it down.
Got some test and tune in yesterday. Hard time getting her to hook with the 410s. Short times in the 1.80s spinning even with tire pressure down at 14 lbs. I thought for sure the MT ET street 275 60 15s would hold the car. Best 1320 was 12.98 at 103 mph. Seems to be a bit of a bog at like 4200 as we'll. next time out I'm going to play with the fuel pressure and timing.

What kinda tire pressure are you running at the track?
Dropped it all the way to 15lbs. Car should have 1.70s or better short times.
Spent some time at the track. Installed 116 jets in the primary's and 113s in the secondary's also moved the accelerator pump level to max fuel position. Still launching it at or below 2000 and short shifting it at 5000 but was still able to run to a best of 12.22 at 112. Little more timing and higher launch ( if I can work out the traction thing ) and 11s should be obtainable.
