El Paso tx/ las cruces nm cruise night

For those of you in the El Paso, tx/ Las Cruces NM area. A few of us car guys and girls get together every Friday night at 8:00 pm next to the sonic at Resler in El Paso. The business owners are cool with us there, and so are the police as long as no one does anything dumb. This is not a cruise that caters to a specific make of car and we are not a club. All types of cars show up to our cruise night, but right now there are mostly mustangs that go. However, im trying to get more gm cars to attend, and it would be awesome to get some ltx cars there.

How much longer is the track open?

As far as the cruise, I've been told by some locals that EP law enforcement are rough on exhaust noise, emissions, etc... my car looks and sounds like a drag car even at idle and low rpms, how much risk am I taking?

Tracks open year round man weather permitting of course and my Camaro is basically straight piped and I've past cops and I've driven my other Camaro on the street haven't been pulled over in either so it all depends on how you drive @Bersaglieri @F.G. Is it free to get in?

Its free to get in, and its a safe event, everyone there is respectful and we do not allow burnouts or any of that stuff there because we are in good standing with the police and wish to keep it that way. As far as exhaust noise goes, my car is also very loud and have not had any problems with police. It'd be cool if you all could show up, I'll pm you guys my contact info.

Tomorrow a lot of the usuals are attending an event at cowboy touch, so there's probably not going to be many cars there. I was planning on just stopping by since I live close to there and then grabbing a bite to eat at hooters if you all want to join.

Only 7 cars showed up 4 subbies 2 mustangs 1 left early and me and my buddy next week @F.G. Said they do Hudson's never been there so yeah

The guy that organizes the sonic cruise does post the info on Facebook. These guys don't do Hudson's, I just remember that it happens every last Friday of the month but it's been a while since I've gone. I'll double check to see if they still hold it due to the cold. By the way, I saw your car that Friday, I tried catching up but I lost you lol.

Man I'd love to go racing with this cool air... How's the tech over there? Better yet how's the track? I've only run my truck over there so I never noticed if it'd be dicey with slicks.

Depends on how well they prep last Friday it was horrible past the 60ft that's how far they prepped the weather didn't help I havent been on a Saturday except for one time an that was before the import face off event so the prep was amazing

Sonic cruise is still going on, last week was packed. Hudson's cruise won't be held again till spring though.

Horrible past 60 = bad times for me, lol. I've over powered the tires after launch a few times at Akela... but the cool air is quite tempting to counter act the normally high DA. What's really crappy over at Akela are the bumps that load/unload the suspension while you're doing 90-110mph and then a real short shutdown. Maybe I'll just cruise if I get around to a few small things on the car.

This is the only track I've raced at I enjoy it the shut down is long enough for the rails and real fast cars to stop. There is a slight roll back at the line but this Saturday shouldn't be to bad I hope

Depends if I get a few of the plugs replaced. I'm hungry and the plug replacing looks like it's going to get pushed till after supper. The Z does need the dust knocked off...

Sorry I didn't respond earlier guys, I was up for 26 hours and my starter decided to quit working for a while. After a twenty minute cool down it finally started. I got home and crashed out.

It's cool I didn't go but I going to the track today and starters sucks to do on the ground I've done that once
