alright well i blew my 4l60e tranny it was rebuilt and had shift kit. now i dont kno what to do i dont know if i should buy a t56 tremic tranny and convert it or just rebuilt the 4l60e how good are the 4l60e because i blew mine in a matter of seconds on the first launch with the new rebuilt engine. and im really not liking the 4l60e but are they good rebuilt or should i just go with a t56 tranny? please help i miss my camaro and im tryin to decide fast so i can get the beast back on the road.

IIRC from the thread of another member dealing with Monster right now, it has more to do with Monster's lack of customer service and generally giving him the run around.

I believe he had had Monster rebuild a tranny for his truck that was used as a grocery getter and it broke down in less than 10k miles of use (no hard use according to him) and he was looking to get it repaired under warranty work. Let me see if I can dig up the thread for you, I don't want to get the facts wrong and mislead you lol.

I've rebuilt many Monster transmissions. Their parts are all junk. Their builds are even worse. They charge almost $3000 for a stock trans with a shift kit...Not a performance built transmission.

We have builds ranging from $800 to $1500 (based on your supplied core). Since you're in Texas, shipping would be $150 (each way). It may be a better option to just have me build you a complete unit with me supplying the core, which would save you shipping it to me. We do charge for "hard parts" with customer supplied cores, which means we charge for parts not normally replaced in a build that are too damaged to reuse. These parts may include things like a planetary, pump, drum, etc. Not all transmissions require hard parts, though. We do have a $300 "ceiling" on hard parts, which means that's the most extra it could cost. This is why I suggest having us supply a core. Are you thinking about trying to rebuild this yourself? Have you ever built a 4L60E? It's not a real good beginners transmission. Add to that that most build manuals don't address the 4L60Es design flaws that require parts to be changed, updated or modified. Our common findings have been that most guys who try these on their own very rarely get them right. In most cases. it will cost more for the tools to build one correctly than the cost to have someone build it.Quote:

I think it would cost more to put a t56 on your car then get Frank to build and ship that trans. If I still had an auto I would have Frank build it.
