If you have a low-mount alternator then you can run any sbc valve cover that has centerbolts. I run these and they look pretty good:

I see you have a Formula though so maybe you'd want ones without a chevrolet logo, lol. How about these:

I like the Corvette composite ones... but thats just me.
i saw the ones on summit but im running the alt in the factory spot
and i was hopeing they had one like the first one but for pontiac
I've always like the fabricated aluminum valve covers.
If you have the alternator up top.....

Or if you have it mounted down low....

I have chrome ones on my motor, installed by the original conartist builder of my motor. dont know where they came from, but I think they look great!

I have the same ones! I used the Duplicolor Shawdow paint on them. The fit great and didn't leak but the bolts suck, the allen heads are soft and will strip out. Also the stock PCV grommet is loose in the hole, I RTV mine in. here is a pic of them in the car:
Before SHadow Paint:

After:

I run the same ones.

I ran into the same issues. Make sure you use the proper allen wrench, or they will get rounded out. As for the PCV grommet, I picked up a new one from Advance Auto in the help section. It was a few bucks and I got the angled one.Quote:

Here is what I plan on doing soon, feel free to run with this idea...
Take a decal like this (not the decal I plan to use, but you get the point)

And marry it to a valve cover like this

They aren't cheap, but they're badass.
i think the carbon fiber ones may be my next purchase just need to find a place to relocate my coil packs to..... and how on earth do the fuel rail covers go on(i kno noob quiestion) i have a slick set i had custom made. and is anyone elses tranny dipstick in the way of thier frc
Dont know if this was asked but are there any supports inside the carbon covers?
The reason many people want VCs is so they have extra clearance for Roller rockers and such.
No. These are a completely empty shell inside, no supports whatsoever.

+3 on the ebay aluminum VC's
the grommet is way too loose and makes oil leak out there
and yes those bolts are terrible, what bolts are you guys running?

Nope. Use the Fel-Pro blue matte-finish gaskets, soak them in hot water, stretch them out some, and glue them into the valve covers using "Right Stuff". NO issues.
I bought some nice polished rounded head 1/4"-20 bolts with a hex drive. Had to cut them to the right length, but they worked awesome and looked great.
