has anybody used the stainless ebay headers on there car before? i know just buy pacesetters. but i want them coated and my budget os only about 325 at the moment.

Most people seem to think positive of them. Of course there will be fitment issues, but that goes for any long tubes.

I would buy pacesetters and get two 50' rolls of fiberglass header tape. That's what I did. It was really not bad to wrap them and under the hood it looks great. It also keeps the temp. of the headers down and gets the heat out of the engine bay. You can touch the hot headers with the fiberglass tape on them, that's how much it helps. I had no fitment issues with the pacesetter long tubes at all. Make sure you get the percy's seal for good aluminum header gaskets, just throw the paper ones away.

The LPP knock off ebay headers will need to be dented pretty heavily on the primary to clear the steering shaft it doesn't have the primary raised like the pacesetter knock offs do. Im speaking from first hand experience on this. How ever quality is very nice, looks to be a stepped design 1 3/4 to 1 7/8s on the LPP knock offs an the collector is nicely copied.
so how do i know which company has which brand knock offs. btw im 17 and my mom said she would get them for me for xmas haha
lpps have a completely diff collector an have the larger primary's, ill post links when i got time later
I paid $200 for my pacesetters on craigslist brand new, and mine have the AIR fittings and O2 bungs. They are closer to $400 new, but find them like I did and you'll have a great deal. The percy's gaskets were $50 from JEGS and got the Y pipe off of ebay for $150 shipped. I sold my stock exhaust to cover the cost of all of this, and it almost cost me nothing.
does anyone have an idea of when the actual lpp headers will be available again? and how much they were?
The LLP'S are a pain to install but look and sound great.
I thought they were about 450, correct my if I'm wrong

So what company on eBay do you buy the headers from. I think I found 3 different styles/companys. Maybe someone could post some links to the good/better/best to go with,and make a good reference for everyone.
I'm gonna get some eBay ones. But still haven't found which is the best fit and quality.
i ended up buying the speed daddy inc. headers, stupid name so i call them speed inc. haha. but realy what you need to look for is the headers that have the NO. 1 primary that goes up and over the top of the 3rd and 5th (drivers side of course). that way u dont have to beat the hell that primary to clear the steering shaft. btw got mine for 308.80 shipped :)
not always the case. I got the same headers an mine hit the passenger side frame and the steering shaft. It all just depends on the car.Quote:

Ran into the same problem with my hooker super comp lt's I removed the boot the the intermediate steering shaft and made a smaller one that cleared the the primaries and carefully ground down the fins on the flex joint of the intermediate shaft to clear the primary and wrapped the headers farther down to damped them against the frame. I'm not satisfied with these headers at all tho and plan to put some kooks on insteadQuote:

I have brand new prothane engine mounts and k-member as well. I tried swapping in my old worn out mounts just to see what it looked like and it was the same issue.
I think it all depends on the car. Every one is different and the same headers will fit different from car to car.

I paid 500 shipped for LPPs with the y pipe. I had almost no issues with them. only issue i did have was my header bolts kept backing out, fixed it with new bolts! i like them a lot. Harold, I bought OBX LT's for my TBSS. I can't speak for fitment on LTx cars, but I will say the quality is top notch. The only thing I'm not impressed with is that the o2 bungs need to be relocated due to bad location.
Thanks for the heads up Chris. One thing I did notice is, it doesnt include a y pipe, and I just dont want to get into spending the time to fab one, etc...
Right, when you buy something like that, chances are another aftermarket Y may not fit. I think I paid $550 for my LT's and catted Y for the TBSS. Which is great compared to like $800-$1000 just for the LT's from SLP, SW, Kooks, etc.
