Dont want to spend a fortune

Hey guys , I am looking for a little insight into what you all have found to work.

When I first got my 96, I threw on a set of 2" drop springs, and just replaced the OEM shocks and struts with OEM equiptment. Well with a few miles on the car, I look like a douche in a lowered corolla who just cut the coils. My front end bounces like there is no tomorrow, and my ass end bottoms out over everything. Sometimes so HARD i think its the reason for the kinks in my quarter panels.

what do you guys use for a car with a good drop to have a decent ride .? Im not expecting a caddy kind of ride, but something has got to be better without breaking the bank.

Please help.

I have some Bilsteins I might let go. From Sam Strano. He uses his own valving for the rear. No other Bilsteins have them.

will they work well with the lowered ride height?

dont mean to answer for him but sam re-valves them for the purpose of lowering springs..i will add though,, sam's lowerering springs are 1.2in drop...i have sams springs and kyb agx struts and they work well but sam and many others will recommend the koni struts but they were out of my price range.2in spring is a pretty drastic drop for these cars

SLP revalves their bilsteins for lowering springs as well. Thats what I have on my car with the Eibach prokit. Not bouncy at all.

I'm assuming you're either using Intrax, Goldline, or Sportlines...either way, honestly you aren't going to find a shock that can handle that amount of a drop. You're either going to have to go to a coil over setup or sacrafice the stace a bit to allow the ride to get better.

Personally I love the slammed look, which is why I went with the Edelbrock coilovers. They ride great and handle amazing IMO. Strano's stuff is great, but it is also gwaked over by 90% of the f-body crowd. I enjoy being different and also love the adjustability that I have with the Edelbrocks. They aren't cheap by any means but are reasonably priced compared to a set of Konis.

Your car sits sexy man... I picked up a set of adjustable shox for the front and will see if that helps out at alll

Edelbrocks in the rear also tbird31?

I run the SLP Bilstein shocks and love them. Not sure how well they will work with a 2" drop. I'm using the SLP Eibach springs.
