LED bulbs with black tail light covers?

I am really considering ordering a set of black taillight covers for my firebird but I'm a little concerned about the amount of light they will put out during the day. Has anyone used them or know if LED bulbs will be bright enough to see through them??

From what I have seen during the day they will still be pretty hard to see, but should be fine at night.

I have them on my formula, standard bulbs. At night they are fine, during the day VERY hard to see. I usually pop them off when driving during the day.

Have either of you tried led bulbs?
Good tail lights are getting hard to find and VERY expensive

For what it's worth, I had black AVS covers on my T/A for a year. You could see brake lights clearly at night or daytime with stock bulbs. At night, it was even better. With that being said, I recommend having them tinted. The film will protect the lenses to some extent and you won't see the delamination. This paired with the proper LED bulbs should make it no problem to see.

Mine have stock bulbs and although darker than stock... no issues with light being seen. Even had a coworker notice i had a brake light out at one point... during the daytime.

Well after I get a non broken driver side light I might have to order a set and try them, they look so good and will cover up the delamnating lights.

By the way that color combination looks incredible!

also I noticed you can buy LED 3rd brake lights now, i may get one of those to too to add a little light when braking

If you go with the LED bulbs, get the newest ones described as "Extremely bright". I just bought a pair and they are actually brighter than the original incandescent bulbs. Others I bought last year were much dimmer.
