Escalade customizing.

Wanted to start a thread for a little upcomming work Im having done to the Esky...

With winter comin up and PA using that killer BRINE and SALT to treat the roadways my Chrome 22s are guaranteed to take another beating.

Last year started some horrible pitting on the chrome and I was actually considering sending them out having the chrome stripped then color matching them to the truck.


Well instead of that big investment and not knowing if I will like it... I decided to join the plasti dip world.

A friend (looks like I dont learn) has joined the plasti dip franchise and is doing it "professionally."

Soooooo... hopefully this weekend I can drop it off for him this week and he will make all of my wheels white with a pearl finish. May not be exact, but should a close enough look to see if the future will call for a more permanent job...

Same here... could go anyway... thats y I went w dip rather than paint or powdercoat...

On a some what related note I have a good friend that does amazing powder coating work in the Lancaster area if this doesn't work out. He doesn't do chrome though.

as long as the whites match i think it'll look fine.

We will see... the beauty is.. its temporary.. was never sure if I would like color matched wheels. If I dig it, Ill be doing the spokes on the camaro in powdercoat.... and eventually when this wears off the esky... ill have them done in powdercoat as well... only issues is the chrome has to be removed first....

lol it won't ware off unless you blast it off with a power washer or curb one. i had it on the accent area at the bottom of the front bumper on my GTP and it survived 4 years of plowing through snow every winter, this stuff is awesome. if you like to keep them clean i'd order a bottle or two of DYC's wheel cleaner, it works amazing and will prevent you from having to scrub the dip. https://www.dipyourcar.com/brake-dust-professional-cat/

Ok... if it comes out good ill def do it. Dropped the truck off last night... he had picked up all of the materials already. If there is extra he is gonna do inside the caddy wreathes and minor "eyelids" on the headlights.

Just so u can see some close up of the pitting and damage to the chrome from wonderful PA winters...
