ecoboost or V8 in a classic

I am hoping to grab an old ford truck before it hits the junkyard but here is the question since the trucks were originally v6 would it make more sense to stick an ecoboost in it or just go with the old stand by 302 or 390. I am not a ford man at all but I figure that since it is complete and it is going to the junkyard if it is not bought. I think that shoe horning a v8 in there would be more work but would the return on investment when sold be higher with a v8 between the fenders or would the ecoboost appeal to more people with the current gas prices?

Cool truck from what I can see. I say lt1 swap. But if you must go ford the ecoboost sounds cool but probably pricey. A fuel injected 5.0 with a t5 would be an easy cheap swap imo

Put a 302 in it and be done.

i would think if it was redone as a driver the ECOBoost could yeild a higher pay out, but its also a more expensive engine. i think it would be awesome to have an old clasic like that with a ECOBoost in it.

I think the Ecoboost would make a neat project to put into it, and there's plenty of power/torque potential there too.

Cant really go wrong with either...

My buddy just rebuilt the 390FE in his 74 and it was a PITA cause the parts were real hard to find. I think a 302 or 347 stroked would be bad ass. Maybe even a 460?

I did have a 460 with a c6 but my dad just sold his house so I have no idea if its still there

Little update I told dad to pull the trigger and so I will be picking this up in November when I pick up my bike. I have a bare block lq4 and will punch it out to a 408 and think I will stick a 80 mm on it with ls3 heads and fast 102 setup or I got offered a EFI 302 for dirt cheap that could be getting a procharger setup off CL.
