thanks ... i am taking a risk kinda cause my current job is easy. i sit as a desk and answer the phones ... but its hard some times dealing with people who dont have a clue in the world what is going on.

my Favorite call goes like this:
person looks on line at our web sight and sees a flight and price they want so they call
i answer,"Southwest Airlines, This is Troy. How can I help you? "
They usually say "um yeah i need to book a flight ... " and then silence.
i say,"okay ... (pause) to and from where."
passenger (pax for short) " on thursday i need to go to LAX, I see a flight i want"
Me: "okay, where is the flight going from?"
PAx: "Here."
me: "i am in oklahoma, where are you wanting to fly out of?"
pax: "your not here in oakland?"
me: "no, do you want to fly out of oakland?"
pax: "no, i want to fly out of san francisco."
me: "okay, what day"
pax: "i told you thurday!"
me: "what thursday do you want? we have several months with lots of thursdays do you want the today (3/14/13)"
pax: "no the 4th of April"
me: "Okay got it up ... what time do you want to travel?"
pax: "i want flight 1234"
me: "the one at 11:55 am and getting in to LAX at 3:00 pm?"
pax: "no i want the one changing in phoenix"
me: "so the one getting in at 3:45"
pax: "yeah"
me: "Okay, one moment please ... Okay i am showing a total of $175.80 after the taxes and government fees"
pax: "WHAT?!?!?! right here is says $89"
me: "does it say WEB ONLY over the price?"
pax: "yeah does that mean you cant book it for me?"
me: "yes WEB ONLY means that price is only available ONLINE and we cant see it over the phone."
pax: "So you cant get me $89 price"
me: "no its a WEB ONLY price i cant see if OVER THE PHONE"
pax: "whatever" the sets the phone down but forgets to hang up so i can still hear them say "he dont know how to do his job, ass hole"

if you didnt need help why did you call me in the first place? and what the fuck do you not understand about WEB ONLY?
Don't get me wrong; I love my job and helping true emergency's but those are rare and stupid is alot more common. It's sad to say that in the 3 years I've been a dispatcher I've noticed a decline in common sense. Sometimes I leave work and look at other people and think these cant be the same people that call, they are operating vehicles and making conscious decisions.Quote:
