wire brush the loose scale away...and brush on por.
or if u want aerosol...EASTWOOD sells rust encapsulator... then top it with paint or chasis black.

well got a lot accomplished on the engine today. All gaskets are new, intake manifold,all the timing cover gaskets,seals that top one is a real bitch it took me like 20minto get the seal so one was going on like it should. I stretched it with a socket up till I could get this piece of copper pipe to slide in then got it over the waterpump drive. Attachment 25256
Attachment 25257There was soooo much freaking oil/grease all over everything it was leaking pretty bad. I think that waterpump seal and somewhere down bottom also. Hopefully that's all taken care ofAttachment 25258

Looks good!! Do you think you will get it bolted in before the bad weather hits? What are you plans for the engine bay you still gonna paint it?
