3 years is the min i like to see out of electronics, though my Alienware i bought in 05' is STILL kicking! (that was before dell bought them out and they went to crap)

Haha I usually try to pull a minimum of 4 yrs out of my stuff. My desktop right now is pushing 5 yrs though, so hopefully blowing out the dust regularly will keep it going for a couple more. Not really feeling like replacing anything in there just yet.
