Ets yet ????
not yet .... i need to do some more work .... i want to finish my stand alone fuel cell for the wet side of the nitrous and get a tune on the car to pull some timing out and get a better A/F ratio.
tunes are for suckers, jet it rich and let her eat lol
see i have done it like that on smaller shots but i am stepping up to the big shot realm. i need a tune.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wxag_YtrHsg
first run is NA ... second run is on a 200 shot and i let off cause its breaking up .....third run does the same so i shut down at 5200 ... needs a tune badly .... looks and acts like its loading up on fuel. what do yall think?
Opti
its not the opti ... NA its perfect and on smaller shots like a 150 and 100 its still perfect .... but on the 175 and 200 its a little sputtery
i think its loading up on fuel
I was just joking. What heat range plug?
It's that damn air filter thru the hood
It's probably nothing to do with the fact the motor has way to much timing in it.
200 shot and you haven't bothered to pull a plug to read fueling or the timing mark. ... Where's the dislike button?
You seriously need to take a step back and maybe take a few people's advice on here.
Couple questions
What plugs
What fuel
What's total timing?
Compression?
relax! it's only a 200 shot, motor can handle it stock (at least a handful of times).
first off guy i know i was rolling the dice and got VERY lucky for the times i did it .... i am in the process of redoing the set up
plugs ... currently in there are some br7es plugs .... i will be putting in some br9es in there*
fuel ... i have a 1 gal fuel cell and i have a pump and regulator and will be installing* and ill be keeping 110 or c16 in there .... need to talk with vp more about the recommended fuel.
total timing ... well i got my taxes back and i want to get a msd box and pull about 11* to start with when on the bottle. pull plugs and check them and slowly add it back in till its happy.
compression ... that i dont know ?????????? .... i need to check it*
*we have had a few waves of shitty weather and i pulled my back out (slightly torn muscle) 2 weeks ago.
Keep us updated man. Ir doing things in a risky manner and we are busting ur stones. Im pretty sure u can take the ball busting since this is such a close group. Now as for that hood hole. ... lol
oh we are all good there .... but i do want to make better numbers with this stock motor .... so i am going to do a few things and shoot for at least one dyno run that makes over 500hp and over 650tq on a stock long block. i wonder if its possible?
Everything is possible, once. Lol.
If i were u... id keep the motor alive and aim for a better ET. Weight reduction and suspension, rather than more spray.
well its time for a long over due up date .... i ran to a guy who came in to the pepboys that i work at and we got to talking about cars ... turns out he had an old cop car phase and had a LT1 block just sitting in the barn collecting dust and i could have it if i came and got it ... well i went up and it wasnt a LT1 block ..... IT WAS THE ENTIRE COMPLETE MOTOR DISASSEMBLED. i was so happy .... now i can start building the race car motor and get a forged short block to hold a big shot of spray.... so that adds $0 to the build cant beat free
here is the loot

here is my in my hulk mode block crank and flexplate
Attachment 32480
Attachment 32481
well 2 of the flex plate bolts didnt want to come out ,,,, grinder took the heads off and it popped right off ... the crank is trash so that is the final piece to the puzzle for my forged short block.
Attachment 32482
Good score man!
Very cool, those blocks are heavy lol
Yeah they are... lol
when shopping for a crank will any SBC crank work?
Yes, a sbc crank with a 1 piece rms (86 and up, I think) will work in an LT1.
And ull have to internally balance it... i think.
what luck have people seen with forged cranks .... i know the stock crank is good to about 550-600hp but i dont know how much TQ it will take .... i am making close to 600TQ right now before the build on the bottle .... after the build i will prolly be close to 700 to 750TQ and 500-550 hp when spraying. i am not so sure the stock crank will take that much. and with that range of power expected ... do i need to go 4 bolt splayed or is 2 bolt fine?
Personally, I would build it once. Forged internals, pick your pistons based on your compression goals, ARP hardware, and either use a 4 bolt block or have it splayed.
got the heads disassembled and starting to clean them up .... this is just a basic wire wheel to start with

And why are u goin with the iron heads?
yes i got them free with the block ... it was a complete disassembled motor and so i will put them on the block to get the forged bottom end running .... then once the aluminium ones arnt being used they will be sent to lloyd to be worked over ....but that way the car has minimal down time. i like to drive it around still and hate for it to be torn apart not driveable.
got this installed todayAttachment 32597
Glad to see u didnt use the windshield washer resv.... good job.
sadly this happened too

looks like i need some new fuel lines .... fastbird performance makes some ... but i kinda want some with a steel braided lines
Ur lucky man... nicking a fuel line while throwing sparks...

they have an LT1 kit too.

I fixed my fuel line temporarily
Eweee. Lol
took it out for a while to stretch her legs ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh_wPyImmYU
