The split was mid-94. The situation got confused because the 95 factory service manual incorrectly included the 94 wiring diagram, showing “early production” 2-relay system, and “late production” 3-relay system. They didn’t bother to correct the 95 diagram to show only the 3-relay system.
AH, Thx, I thought it changed in '96 models. I had fun working my way through a full 97 harness using manuals and SHBOX diagrams for the earlier models. I used the harness in my '57 Pickup. When I was nearly done, I came across a Helms manual set for a '97 real cheap. I found alot of crazy changes like using different color wires on items that were identical to earlier models.
Then there were the connector harnesses that got cut and burnt in the wrecked car. Would have been easy to splice color to color BUT they used the same color wires more than once in the same connector GRRR.

so have an odd issue and i think it may be rocker related. when we first mocked up the valvetrain and primed it, we ran into an issue with the budget elgin 1.6 stainless rockers. if you set the guide plate for 1 rocker then didnt put EXACTLY THAT SPECIFIC ROCKER back on the guide plate would be off. this tells me there is a manufacturing tolerance issue between the pushrod cup on all the rockers, ie may not be centered or the same on every rocker. never had that happen before.
now go back with the original ls7 lifters and priming on the stand, we had an issue with 2 pumping up. so i bought new btr ls7 lifters and threw those in, all passed oil on the drill test on the stand (60psi prime), but there were 2 specifically that passed ALOT more oil than others (#2 exhaust and #5 intake). chalked it up to those lifters may be bled a little better. those specific rockers when we swapped lifters, my daughter took off in order and labeled/layed them out, so they went back on on the same exact valve (because of the guideplate alignment issue we found earlier if they were swapped around)
well randomly now we have rocker noise and tapping after running for a few. motor has been heat cycled 5 times now, run for approximately 40 mins total. we had checked the passenger side rockers on sunday, maybe i didnt have enough preload on them, i did a half turn, btr specs .050-.100 preload, with a 7/16-20 polylock, that would be a full turn for 0.050. maybe that is why? or is the pushrod oiling hole not actually open to the rocker oiling hole due to manufacturing tolerance.
i think i am gonna order some comp or something 1.6 aluminums and run them on the intake, and use fred's ole 1.55 comp stainless on the exhaust side, just because i KNOW without a shadow of a doubt the comps pass oil fine. weird issue i have never had before. cold start 60psi oil pressure, hot idle is 35-38psi.

was verified on the stand 3 times. now I relashed them and should've just left it, now it doesn't chop as hard at idle and it's still noisy. I'm really annoyed with it. I gotta take a step back from it for a week or 2 and reevaluate. may just put the lifters from the stock motor in it. btr delphi ls7 so far have been garbageQuote:

LS7 is cleaner shinier lifter, stock oem original is darker one. note the machined bottom is taller on the ls7, this js what cuts off oil flow at part lift on a gen 2
soooooo i can't leave well enough alone. it's bugging me, I feel like I failed on this one. si tore the intake off this evening and swapped to the original lifters out of the stock motor that was in the car. Been a little bit. Got the lifters swapped. Now sounds much better. But after that fiasco, had to take a mental break from the car as I was getting very frustrated throwing money at it with good new parts and having problems. Add in i tweaked my back out and could barely move for about 2 weeks, was not fun.
In the chaos of that, we got an enclosed trailer. Used of course. made a deal with Osie to give him my 18ft Kwik-Load Texas rollback tilt deck trailer the way it sits in trade for his Pro-line 20ft open spread axle trailer, which was a nice trailer but always was a pain with ramps, catching shit under the car, etc. I then sold the Pro-line randomly on a saturday morning on fb marketplace. Met my fiance for lunch and this 20ft V-nose Anvil 10k enclosed popped up on FB Marketplace on my fiances phone. Sent a hail mary message (it was listed for 7k no less firm) to the lady "i got 6k cash in my pocket and a full tank of diesel, ill be there in 25 mins" and she said ok. Well she didnt tell her husband that, so when i got there he was expecting 7k, only had 6k sorry bud no harm no foul, right as i went to leave he said lemme get the title and take it.
It does need some love. It is a 2022 model but he used it for 18 months every day as a landscape trailer, so the spring bushings/equalizers/shackles are toast. I am replacing them with wet bolts, eventually i will convert it to torsion or slipper springs to eliminate those bs double eye springs. ramp door needs some love, is a little bowed on one side, but it closes so in spring we will take the skin off the door, fix whatever tubes are bent, and reskin it. For now just getting the suspension fixed so I can put the camaro in it for winter storage, then move the bird off the kwik-lift ramps into the camaros side of garage and pull the vic jr intake and start fitting the super vic 2 intake.Attachment 40692Attachment 40693
WOW, That's the worse case of trailer overload I've ever seen. He must have been hauling a skid steer or two inside it. I sure like that truck you bought, Ol'Yeller. It deserves being under cover too because it's so cherry. And rare, I'll bet there's not that many around.

everyone keeps saying overloaded except the actual trailer places. the trailer places agree that's loose bolts/lack of maintenance. the guy had said the shackle bolts fell out on the bad side. so that makes sense. nothings bent inside the trailer and the floor looks fine, so I don't think it was truly overloaded. axles are fine, spindles are fine, leafs are not flattened, they match the eye to eye measurement they should be, but metal on metal eats stuff awayQuote:

Just need to get a more aggressive tire on it. it has a shittily done floor patch on the driver side too that i will have to redo (previous owner did use a replacement floor pan, glued it in place) as well as i need new front and rear bumpers as they are rotting from the inside out

What a shame about the rust, looks perfect on pass side. I forgot ya'll have rust issues on vehicles up there. Extended and crew cab got so popular, it's rare to see a single cab nowadays, especially a 3/4 ton
