I don't know that our platform will ever be "nationally recognized" but we have to start somewhere. Your original idea was gold and a lot of people have expressed interest. I think its time to run with it. With the offers that were made to visit the shop and have a mobile dyno set up we need to start making arrangements and finding out what times would be best etc... not trying to be pushy, I just don't want to see people fizzle out because we didn't move it along.
What are the expectations for these events? Show'n'shine, track day or both?

Reason I'm asking is because every year I already host a Meet & Greet for Michigan FBody enthusiasts the first Saturday after Memorial Day. It's just a show'n'shine 1 day event, we draw 300+ Camaros and Firebirds each year and since 2007 have had active participation from GM. This year's show GM had over 6 ZL1 convertible CTF cars that they brought. Because of our show being early in the year, we usually are one of the first shows to get to see 5th gen mules or preproduction vehicles at the show. We were the first to have a ZL1 in mule form at the show, and we had 5th gen Camaro mules drive through the show coordinated with GM to be timed while everyone was there. Scott Settlemire, Al O, Cheryl Pilcher, and John Fitzpatrick usually do a Q&A session too. I usually only post it in the Midwest forums on most sites, but if any Great Lakes folks are interested in making the hike y'all are more than welcome.
That's awesome! Because the ltx platform only spanned 7 years I think we are at a disadvantage interest-wise because it has seemingly been replaced with other engine platforms. So as much as I would like to see ltx events grow to that size, I can't help but be realistic and think its going to remain a "specialty group". I would say a turnout of 10-20 cars would be good. Meet and greet, maybe hit a local track and fart around on a test and tune night, flash some schwag, get some drinks and hang out. If there is more interest is doing anything else, do it! If not, don't do it. Majority rules
well, since it seems to have sparked interest i will host a get together in either late march or early April, i will talk to monte about a dyno day and get some prices on other things such as the arch museum, city museum, and hotels for anyone who needs one, but i will need a final count by say...december 1st? for a final answer from anyone. i will try getting a hold of gateway to see if we can get in the track, dont know if i can, but ill try
