Mohoghany panels with cherry battons. The sheetmetal will be 1993 camaro bright red. I have to mould the sheetmetal tail lights into a tail panel to finish off the rear.

We would have been further ahead on the 56 if we didn't find a 52 Plymouth Concord for a steal. It is an all original 48K mile car that someone took apart in 1970 and never finished. The motor was fully rebuilt and the front suspension was all done by the the PO. He also acquired enough parts for another whole car over the years he sat on the project. It is a Flathead 6 with a 3 spd OD trans. It runs like new and drives great. Was a quick restoration, about 5 months. It is a very rare bodystyle and i kinda like it.
Great work man. Def have ur hands full. Its weird thinking that termites should be something a car enthusiast should be concerned with. Lol.

Sorry for the crappy cell pics. Saturday I mocked up the drivers side tail light and half of the rear apron. This light tilts down for the fuel filler. We hope to be ready by spring.

Got the bumper mocked up. Had to do some adjustments on the tail light housing. I fabricated some parts you can't see underneath. They seal up the quarter panels.

I was concerned before that the bodylines from the metal to the wood would not flow... but now that I see it... i get it.
Im still very confused about the wood parts though. How do u make them to hold up to weather and insects... roy from age... etc (i understand this vehicle wont probably ever see any of these conditions... but theoretically)...

Thanks!
It is marine grade plywood and the cherry has a very tight grain. They will be sealed with marine grade varnish. The wood structure will be sealed before we finish the interior. Original woodies did suffer from rot. That is why they are hard to find in original condition.
