Well I got the old camshaft out and the new Lloyd Elliot spec'd camshaft should be here this week ....

its a big boy and its installed now time to once again button her up and try to start it. and here is a pic of the timing chain installed THE RIGHT WAY for TDC on compression stroke for number 6 piston

hopefully this will correct the problem.
I'm not sure how the old cam would not let it carnk but at least you can scratch the cam off of the list now.
As long as you install the new cam correctly and you have compression, you should be good to go.
Just add the correct amount or air, fuel and spark . . . . . . . no reason it shouldn't run then.

Waiting to see if the new cam fixes the issue. When will u fire it, or are u goin back to the engine shop?

Yes my Springs came in yesterday
so I got a little bit of progress this weekend

I got the oil pan and timing cover gasket surfaces cleaned up fresh gaskets got the water pump back on.
So with the new camshaft I decided to step up 2 some better Springs.

I think I'm going to modify the tool a little bit to make it easier on my hands.
Once I get all the springs changed today I'm going to read measure my pushrod length cause the 7.100 ones I have may not work. I'll find out and report back later today.
