Today I gave the car a little bit of attention I took out the wiring harness did some scrubbing and a little bit of painting

kind of surprising what one can of spray paint will do under the hood
So yesterday I took apart the stock motor .... here is a better look at piston #4 that poped a ring land off

Drove with that in that condition for about 2 months still ran ok

That piston took a beating!
Great job on the engine bay. It looks real good. I wish I would of did mine myself, but I ended up sending it off to get done. It was supposed to be done in a week, but one and a half months later, still waiting...

I found a place who had a mig welder that did aluminum welding and got the heads welded up ... thanks montoya's

So I got 3 different intakes for small block Chevy and marked where to drill my new holes

They came out almost perfect ... now it's not a full on machine shop quality but it will work perfectly.

So the outer bolts are the stock bolt angle and the closer is the ones I re drilled and tapped

Well I take 2 steps forward and 3 steps back ... so one of my valve cover bolts had some messed up threads and since I have been tapping stuff all afternoon I thought it would be a good time to run a tap and clean up the threads on it ... I got it bottomed out and started backing it out after a few turns it caught some threads and got stuck ... and after several minutes of being careful no to snap it off ......

Carbide steel bit and pray?
Or, if you are brave, knock down the perch that has the threads in it so you can grab whats left of the tap with a vise grip?
