now I have the oil pump ... but ... the pick up tube doesn't want to fit ... almost like the flared part that is supposed to press in to the pump is too big ... did I get the right pick up for my high volume pump?

Well today I got the windage tray and oil pump installed ... had some issues getting the pick up tube in ... then realized it was the wrong size ... got the right one and tack welded it cause I have heard of people's falling off

Also I am using a 93-94 timing cover. since I am going carb and electric water pump. I won't need the opti hole or water pump drive hole ... I think I am going to try a 50 cent piece.

U know they make them solid specifically for lt1s going carbs. I have links to everything in my old corvette build thread when inwas going to swap in a carbd ltx.

Ugh ... so today I didn't get any work done on the motor because the shop that I paid to clean the block and get it ready for assembly did not do their job every hole on the front of the motor appeared to be good when I looked it over initially. ... but today upon further inspection every hole on the front of the engine block have needed to be cleaned out with a tap because they're all full of RTV

This is what happens when you buy an expensive ring but skimp on car parts, my friend! Haha!
Truthfully, that does suck, though. I hope you get it straightened out. Good progress so far!
