No, chromium nitride and high tension oil ring
Block is done and Karl will be picking it up Friday. Only thing he is waiting on are the rings which will be there sometime next week.
Using a kennedy half dollar to plug the WP hole. Still need to pick up some of the right stuff so I can hammer that and the dorman opti plug in place.

I got a set of SBC valve covers off of a mutual friend's 3rd gen. They are cast aluminum JEGS covers and could look really nice with some polishing. I paid him by adjusting some rockers and ordering a pizza lol.

The stock centerbolt VCs wouldn't bolt down to my AFRs because the inner posts would bottom out on the head. I went with regular SBC covers instead because the AFRs have both bolt patterns and pulling a valve cover with the EFI coil brackets on centerbolts can't be done without unbolting every single coil (which will be a huge pain in the ass). If I drill some holes and bolt the brackets onto the generic SBC covers then there will only be 4 bolts and some wires to unplug. Luckily, I left enough slack when crimping my plug wires so the added height of the JEGS covers shouldn't be a problem with the LPPs.

Got my oil pan too. This thing might not be a 242t... 244t I think? I know it came off of a 96 Trans Am so it should fit.

Windage tray comes right out with a few bolts. Trap doors galore.

Thinking about painting the single plane and elbow black with some wrinkle paint. Got too much eye candy right now.
Depending on your choice in main caps, start thinking about the dipstick mayhem you will get into.
Mine is stuck between the pan and the main :(
I know the dipstick has to be flattened with the Howard's caps. I just hope it fits past the pan.
What is everyone running head gasket wise? (brand, thickness, material) Karl told me they had to take a little more off of my deck than anticipated to make everything square so PTD clearance will probably be around .010. If I were to put a .060 mls cometic or something close on I wouldn't have to touch the chambers. Big quench height but not excessive and this is a boosted motor so who cares. Really just want it back on the road so less steps is better.
Cometic they can make any thickness you want need a 50 ra or smoother you should keep the quench around .040
Trick Flow MLS, thick as hell because, F quench.
Cometic because I like to bleed $.
