Yea I'm a lazy mofo, thanks for the tips guys :)
So did your lazy ass get around to doing anything with the rails?
LOL not yet.. just been busy with school and my gf is visiting me for a week
Damn, GF in town, no work getting done
Good job guy, your excuse is acceptable
hurry up already... :D
LOL should go together at the end of this month, beginning of next... it'll be a while before I get dyno numbers unless I just get a dyno day around here.. and track numbers will only be for MPH because it'll be 6 months or so before I can afford a real rear to put in the thing
I also gotta do some porting/cleaning up to those welds on the header primaries lol but that is to be expected with one of your first kits ever. And I know your welds have gotten 3294862398672786 times better over the years and I make sure to tell everyone that who sees my kit haha. I'm more worried more about function over looks ;)
This build may also end up being a testament to Alvin @ pcmforless' skills in a mail order...
I'm getting a reflash through him... obviously I'm probably going to tweak it some here and there because lets be honest, you can only get so close (especially with a custom build like this) with a mail order.
And speaking of which... just ordered my tune lol
I was gonna say, at this rate you're going to rival me for expedience with a build!
Get it done!
What parts are you still waiting for?
Need to order my fuel pumps still, get this intake cleaned up (been slacking with that), and the fuel lines/ic piping.... the ic piping will be figured out as the build is occurring because there is a local guy with a TT C5 Z06 that has a lot of left over stuff I'm going to grab off of him.
The pumps, I just need to do a little research first.
So I'm starting to think I got plugs that aren't going to be cold enough, I bought autolite 104s... Should I get some TR6s or Autolite 103s instead?
Go with the 103's or TR6's.
I'm trying out the TR6s. HURRY UP!!! lol.
Unfortunately only partly... I had my buddy take off the wrap on the two manifolds, but I left it on the crossover and downpipe.
When I received the kit it was completely wrapped like you mentioned... and I mocked it up in my room. Well I use to be a roofer and I have dealt with fiberglass before so I didn't think anything of it.
Well I got the wrap all over my forearms and lower stomach and, naturally, it started itching. I took a shower and it didn't seem to go away... I just figured I would have to deal with it for a couple days. A week went by and it was only getting worse and making it very uncomfortable to sleep or pay attention in classes. I finally went to an urgent care and for the first time in my life, I had an allergic reaction to something. They gave me a prescription cream and put me on steroids for a week. I got it on me again about 2 months ago but luckily I had some of the prescription cream left.
I am HIGHLY allergic to the stuff for some reason, which I find very odd because when I roofed, I literally carried fiberglass insulation every single day and it never lasted more than a couple days/showers. So I decided to take it off the manifolds because if I ever have to change the plugs, I would never be able to get around the wrap.
Just ordered some NGK TR6s
Also just ordered my two Walbro GSS340s (255lph)
Still need to order/do:
Fuel Lines/Fittings
Intercooler Piping
Sandblast/powdercoat intake manifold
Maybe a wastegate
Sounds to me like you need to start putting the car together. Those parts will be figured out and purchased quickly after you get started on the car.
Wow just called a dealership for reference on an ac delete pulley... man those have gone up in price... $94.15
edit: Just called Sam Taylor where Jason Cromer works and got quoted $59.05 haha rip off dealerships in my city
I was disappointed recently to find out the Jason Cromer no longer has the best deal on opti sparks... Got beat by summit by about $60
I'll have to look on another site to see what he posted as the price paid... I just remember that it was over Summits price for the first time I ever heard of. And it was a GM opti from a GM dealership.. Jason used to have unbeatable prices on them, not anymore I guess.
Here's the link to the other site: http://mafia-motorsports.com/forums/...he_best-3.html
On the 3rd page, the guy detailed prices for them.
WOW. I just gave a referral for a LT1 Corvette guy that came into Autozone to Jason. Bummer.
Got my fuel pumps and spark plugs from speed inc.
great prices btw!!

Still need to order/do:
Fuel lines/fittings (in the mail, thanks Swingrrrr!!!)
Misc. fittings/gaskets
Intercooler Piping
Sandblast/powdercoat intake manifold
Maybe a wastegate
The way I see it (drunk or not), it's time to start putting this beast of yours together...
You've got to start putting it together to figure out your "Misc. fittings/gaskets" and your "intercooler piping"... Only thing i would get taken care of right away, is your powdercoating.
GET ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
<<EDIT>> "Wastegate maybe" is not acceptable, that's one of those mandatory things.
I have a wastegate, just might buy a different one is all.
The whole thing will be going together over the course of one week maybe two at most. I am borrowing a buddies' car while mine is down so yea. The gaskets and fittings can be figured out as it goes and summit has their GA warehouse that usually gets parts to me the day after I order them even when I only pay for regular shipping so it shouldn't be a problem.
As for the intercooler piping, my friend has a TT vette that he has A LOT of leftover piping, couplers, and clamps that I'm going to buy off of him and the best part is he has Twin TC 76 F1 Trims so a majority of the piping sizes will be similar.
Minor update... i FINALLY brought my intake to the powdercoater and they gave me a great quote. I was originally going to just get it done black but he said he had some other stuff that was the same price, so I'm getting this cool looking textured silver flake type thing lol idk how to explain it, hopefully it will look good.
Brought in the fuel rails too and those will be coated a gloss black.
be hoping for me to be posting vids in 4 weeks or less :)
Sounds like your gonna have a busy 4 weeks! Get to work slacker!
Let me know when you get started... I would like to come check out the progress.
Well I am bringing it over to Jon's probably on the 15th but maybe the 16th. And I changed my flight so I am in town til the 19th so I can at least be around to tear it apart.
He will hopefully finish it up before I get back on June 3rd... but yea the 15/16th-18th I'll be around tearing it apart
