How do you like your single speed? I've been thinking of picking one up to putz around Chicago on. My Cannondale F5 is nice, but I want something more road worthy.

I love it. Mine isn't a track bike though... it's an old converted road bike. Weighs about 20lbs, geared to putz around at 10mph, but can cruise at ~20, and sprint to 34 (leaving me light-headed :jest: ). I've done a couple solo 70mi rides on it... which is why I didn't go with track geometry. It's a great beater, and there's just something about a fixed gear that is fun. The looks from people when trackstanding at a light are awesome.. and get better when you start moving backwards :laugh:

Been thinking about getting some cyclocross tires for it to make it a little more multi-purpose and less restricted to the road.

Damn I miss riding sometimes. I still got my BMX in my garage. I just never have the time anymore and around here the cops will fuck with you anywhere you go lol.

cops will mess with you on a bike???

Yeah same here, they have all kinds of laws now for bikes. They will ticket you for riding on the sidewalk, I have a 5 year old son and I would rather him take out a pedestrian on the sidewalk than get ran over by a car. That's just me though, maybe I'm not as retarded as our laws?!

I've been pulled over several times at 1, 2, or 3am on my bike... most i get is weird looks :D

Ya I can't tell you how many times I thought I was going to go to jail for riding places I guess I wasn't suppose to. I miss riding but maybe I should sell the bikes so I don't get any ideas to ride again :)

my bike weighs 19-20 lbs too :)

and yes, the cops dont like me too much. either im flying down some handrail or shredding hard destroying property, then they kick me out, and i leave doing burnouts lol
