lol i dont think im gunna. i do love a cammed ls1, but a vert? id try and turn it around for a hardtop or t-top. but most people arent that into a vert, and wont trade unless they have a stock car and want a caged cammed camaro. its nbm with a imaculate black top. he said i can keep my wheels. id like to see pics. he said he'd look for between 2500 and 2900, but i think ilike my car.....if it was a hardtop id probably do it, but its not lol
OMG!! I think I know whos car you are talking about!!! NO WAY!!! If its the one i'm thinking about.. I just literally saw it today... LOL!!!
Is it Jason Short??? If it is, hes definately one of the smartest guys I have ever met and knows the LT1's and LS1's inside and out.
Its a very nice looking car too, and the top on it is in unbelievable condition. We just had the seats out on it the other day and I shampooed the carpets for him.
haha yea it is! is the car nice? whaddya think?
cause i kinda like what ihear so far, its the convertible thats making the choice hard.
Its a pretty clean car, I'd definately be all over it if he offered me that deal.
The top is in absolute incredable condition, and I just helped him clean it up the other day. The interior looks great too, and he just repainted the roll cage too.
Its not uncommon for Jay to be selling things. He's got his fair share of F-Bodies too right now (I know hes got at least 3 right now that know of that are all in very nice condition).
Overall, its a very nice car.. The paint is in pretty good shape, but with some more work it could be looking a lot better. Buffing it out would probibly make it look a lot better.
I know Jay personally, and see him very often, and hes one of the few people I could buy something off of and not have to be worried about him ripping me off... I was ready to buy a 1995 Z28 Convertable off him over the summer, and I trust him soo much that I wouldnt have even needed to test drive it because hes very upfront about what ever he sells, and is very honest. I didnt get around to buying it because he was taking a 12 bolt out of it and swapping it into another car ontop swapping another engine into a 93-97 Formula for a friend... So he was extremely busy and I just couldnt wait any longer so I went ahead and bought my current one.
Hes very fair, and very trustworthy. He knows the inside and out of both the LT1's and LS1's and is definately one of the smartest guys I know in regards to that. He's owned over 15 (probibly closer to 20 if I had to guess).
I would definately be all over this car if it was me, and he takes extremely good care of all his cars, so you wont have to be worried about that. He wont hide anything, and will be very honest with you and tell you exactly how it is. Look at his trader rating over on LS1Tech (hes a mod there) and you will see exactly what I am talking about. ;)
Good luck, and I'd definately be all over this one. It almost seems like a steal to me.
With what Mike just said, that puts a spin on the deal, seeing how the owner takes great care of it, but that doesn't put a hardtop on the car :(
I'd still bail on the offer if it were me.
I'm pretty sure he just sold it though.. He's had it at New Era for a little bit when hes been cleaning it up, and it just left about an hour or so ago.
