That is one of the first things i checked .. No antivirus is running and nothing else was open . i wrote bins to the last PCM 2-3 times and didnt have an issue until the last file i got from bfranker site .. This PCM i bought today , i just don't understand everything was right and going smooth .. i was thinking Awesome! finally going to get it going .. then BONK ! ERROR ! :doh:

Is there anywhere to send it to get un bricked and bench tuned ? or do i just order one already tuned ? this is starting to get expensive ..

PM sent .. I guess its something to do with the laptop , i don't know what else it could be .

Flash chip needs to be socketed to fix the bricked one. Either way it is going to cost you. If you want to just do a mail order tune on a tuner supplied pcm http://madtuner.com/

something is wrong on your end with either your cable or laptop. I have never had any issues and have tuned probably 100 cars at least. Given I just flashed the exact file without issue it has to be something on your end. I dont use the cable you use and also tune from an old laptop with windows xp. I use the old xp machines because I have a serial cable and do not trust usb converters.

Yes sir .. i am starting to distrust USB converters myself . I never doubted your file , i didnt have any trouble opening it or anything else . I appreciate all your help . I am going to send it to firebird_1995 and have it socketed . there has to be some kind of conflict going on in the laptop ,is all i can guess . i always use XP to program anything ,i don't know why i didn't do that this time . Little late now though . Thanks again everyone for the help .

OK folks , i got everthing back together and still wont run . it doesn't seem to be fueling enough and i raised the injector flow rate . but im afraid im going to mess up my engine ,messing with things im not experienced with . The car runs with the OBD2 PCM , but it wont idle .. with the obd1 PCM and JPacks bin it wont crank,wont crank, wont crank ,then will crank ,sputter a few seconds and then run fine . shut it off .. wont crank again .
i had a sure enough mechanic come look at it today and he said its something in the tune not catching . he thinks its not getting enough fuel . He suggested i get the obd2 PCM tuned , but i already have the cable and socketed PCM .. i really dont want to change my game plan now . does anyone have any suggestions ?

I started looking elsewhere and changed my Opti twice to be sure ,43 PSI fuel pressure, injectors pulsing ,checked all my sensors .. everything is good on the engine ..

When you say it won't crank, you mean that when you turn the ignition switch the starter doesn't engage?

No it rolls over , but will not run .. everything is reading fine on the PCM . it is just like something in the tune is not clicking with my engine . It cranks every time with the OBD2 PCM .. just runs bad and wont idle without pedaling it , because its a stock tune with a 383 with a 242/248 cam and a LT4 intake system .

ok i made some changes with the AFR on the bin and reflashed it . as soon as i reflash the PCM ,the car starts , but when i shut it off , it will not start again . :cry:

Something isn't right. That tune that was sent should be damn close and a known good tune. Did it run long enough to set an ses light? Something isnt adding up.

Can you clear the PCM then upload a datalog of what the PCM is seeing while it is running?
