Back in 2009 I had another transmission built for my car. It was a rmvb th350 with a 2.75 1st gear, and a 4400rpm converter from a local shop. The transmission in the car at that time was from the same shop but it was a forward pattern, and I was running a 5200rpm Art Carr converter. I was still rocking the stock shortblock engine at the time. When the new tranny was done I swapped them out, and just out of curiousity I put the new converter in as well. I took the car to the track and it was a turd out of the hole. It wouldn't launch at all, not even on the brake. As I said before it lost 3 tenths in the 1/8th (probably half second in the 1/4). The following day the 5200 converter went back in, and it went right back down to 7.0's the next time at the track. I later went out and ran an 11.11 with that combo. I never got a chance to run it in some great air, but i'm sure at Cecil (like last November) it would have gone 10's.
