The rain groves are not deep enough to channel the water away from the tire when new. The water cools the tire down and glazes them a little if you go from dry driving into a down pour. It'll be like pouring oil on a regular tire. Just be careful, the width of the tires we run and the weight of our cars are not the best for wet driving in the first place.
Looks like one tire was over inflated...
