Well, maintenance overhaul on the Corvette is now finished! Yesterday I got a lot done. Transmission fluid flushed and transmission filter changed, fuel filter changed, air filter cleaned and recharged, throttle body cleaned, brake fluid flushed, power steering fluid flushed, and old worn out vacuum line replaced. Today flushed the coolant and replaced another worn out vacuum line, degreased and pressure washed the entire engine and underbody, shined the engine, scrubbed the calipers clean (relatively lol), Monika cleaned the wheels and dusted the inside of the car, I vacuumed the interior like a mofo (every last spec of dirt and hair lol), and Monika armor-alled everything, cleaned the outside of the car, and got her back on the ground. Monika drove and we hopped on the highway, went 25 miles to my old university and back home. She's running like a champ! Threw a check engine light RIGHT before we got home though (like, pulling in the driveway...), so gotta get that looked at tomorrow and figure out what code it's throwing. Overall, I'm pretty happy and worn the hell out :D

Oh yeah, forgot to mention putting new wiper blades on, too, cuz the old ones were shot. And yeah, pressure washed the engine and just didn't spray at the alternator or opti. Set up a shop fan aimed at it for a good 20 mins afterward and let it dry for another few hours before turning it on. All was well :)Quote:

Heh, yeah I know, shouldn't do it, but the engine and underbody were absolutely filthy and greasy as fuck. It needed a cleaning bad... Also took lots of extra care to dry it all out thoroughly before firing it up. It ran perfect the whole way, 50 miles round trip. But I'll let you know what the code is as soon as I can borrow an OBD1 scanner from my neighbor.Quote:
