dat sloppy brake
Yep. We run one on a buddy's car that has been professionally built and it works great. I'm thinking I've just got a weak shift solenoid or something causing the delay. I think I'm at the threshold of what a non built 80e can handle. 139 in a 3700# car shakes out to 715-725 rwhp. With 18% loss it's close to 800-850 crank hp

Fyi... ur mph is the same as I used to run on my KAWASAKI ZX12R. It made 190 rwhp and the bike and I were approx 800 lbs.
My fastest at that mph was a 9.98.
LTXtech.com IS my drug...

I use a calculator on Wallace racing and with that mph on a 3700# car it's saying 9.75. Now obviously that would be a perfect run, max power off the line and the track holding it. My last 2 passes I was just trying to leave clean and see if I could get a mid 10 pass. I would have stayed to make a few more passes but Brad is buying the long block and I didn't want to risk tearing it up. I've never had as much luck with a setup as this one so it was nice to go out and lean on it a bit. It was definitely running top notch. I hope I don't regret selling it

Nice. Enough mph for some 9.50 runs. Will need to sixty a hair better though :)
Lol. My grandmas lesabre cuts 2.1s . 3800 ttf
Been looking at an extreme automatics griner pro brake for the 80e. I'd like to go th400 but I want to be able to drive to work occasionally. Plus I've already got everything set up for it. It's a billet valve body and supposed to be pretty decent. For 1k I hope it is. That should get my 60' down

Look into a hipster brake. Griner is real nice but overkill.
Update:
I went with the extreme automatics billet valve body. I now have 5x more in the valve body than the entire transmission. I got an offer on the 88mm that was worth going for. I sold it and bought a borg warner s475. After I swapped it over I decided to switch back to efi, so I went with ms3 pro. Ran that for a while and sold the 355. Ended up buying ryan stouts 383 out of his fox body to run while I looked for a set of heads for my other 383. When I swapped it out I decided to buy a new converter and have it speced for the new setup. I went with a jakes billet triple disc lockup. I've been working on getting the tune right but hopefully will have it lined out before the shootout.
Since I switched from blowthrough to efi I decided to add methanol injection. I'm currently running two 625ml nozzles and thinking of adding another spraying on the inlet of the turbo. So far so good. I like the stuff. Been running 100% meth. Smells amazing. That's all for now

Thanks guys. I'm going to have to stick with this setup for a while. This will be the 4th shootout my car has been to and has had a different setup each year. I can't make any progress on the suspension/weight loss things I should be doing

Well I've fought opti problems for the last time. Had some issues on the dyno and decided I'd had enough. Installed a crank trigger setup and made a cam sync out of the guts of an opti. I still need to finish the wiring and eventually make a more rigid bracket to hold the crank sensor but it runs.

Not exactly. The crank wheel was a precut piece. It's actually a 36 tooth wheel vs 24. I just made a bracket to hold that sensor. I made the aluminum piece on the old opti hub and the bracket that holds the cam sensor. All the aluminum disk does is hold a magnet that triggers the sensor. Looking back, I think it would have been easier to make the steel hub into a 1x wheel by grinding a window into it and using a regular cam position sensor but I already had this stuff.

I am going to have to read this WHOLE THREAD since it has so much good information on LT1's !!!! Like the PoPo siad.. "you Sir, have abilities that make US jealous"!
All that STUFF that you tore up in the process of learning was well worth it based on how far you have COME !!!
Man I change things too often. I sold my turbo setup and built a new one. Went to fender exit and a billet 80mm turbo. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e463710d9f.jpg

Looks super gay. I bet it doesn't even make 500.

Yeah there's not much left under the hood. Testing has gone well and I'm hoping with some crisp fall air that I can run an 8.9999
If so I need to step back and clean my wiring up. It's a nightmare.

She is a fat little piggy. I probably wouldn't have to lean on it as much if I took some weight off.
I should be ready in about 10 years when my youngest is off to college. I can hardly remember what day of the week it is anymore. Time is moving at warp speed in my life right now.
I would make time if that was something you really wanted to do though. A turbo Impala SS would be pretty sweet to drive across the country....

Super cool setup! Maybe its just me, but from looking at the engine compartment, its looks like a clean/simple turbo build. I see that your in Southern IL, nice to see a fellow LTx'er in IL as well :)
