So the plan is this (for now), pull the 383 and getting the junk pistons out, rebalanced, then since it's going to be apart, swap the turbo cam in and upgrade the valve springs. Then I will start working on the turbo setup. I'm going to have a rebuilt stock bottom end on hand to run na in case I can't get it to come together before the shootout. That being said, with the room under the hood I've been thinking about this...

Decisions decisions....
Picked up a super victor and victor Jr intake, and an edelbrock 4500 throttle body a while back. The only issue I see here is getting the injector bungs out far enough where the fuel rail won't get into the throttle body linkage. Just eyeing it up it looks close but doable. The other option is just to build/buy an elbow and run a regular throttle body. That's quite a ways out so I'll cross that bridge when I get there. Pretty sure I'm going to try and do the cage too so it may not make it under turbo power this year. We'll see
Uve got lots of talent man... im excited to see this come together.

Think you can have the turbo set up and going by the shootout. That would be a crazy thrash
I think I can get either the turbo or cage done, but not both
If you can clear the 4500 TB with a nice tall elbow then def do that, otherwise, a nice tall carb spacer plate and tall sweeping elbow to a 90mm or larger LS1 TB will work just as well for our range of HP goals
I was determined to pull the engine with headers attached and hood on.

HA! Got em....... got em
Yea I'm watching it, watching it get scratched. Nothing major but every time I get in the engine bay something gets dinged.
I'm going to drop the engine off at the machine shop and let him go through the whole thing since I'm short on time and start mocking up the turbo setup with a bare block and cast heads. I really don't want to go through this process again.
Nothing worth mentioning. It's apart but I'm trying to stay focused on the shootout now
Understood... u guys got lots to do...

Love the car and your dedication.
Thanks. I'm hoping this will be the last time I subject myself to this torture.

That is so bad ass looking
Word of advice to all who may be swapping to a single plane intake, if you are going to run a standard dizzy, don't forget to remove the oil pump drive before gluing the intake down. It doesn't fit through the distributor hole..... grr
Lol that sounds like something I'd do Chris.
Looks good
I was so pissed
Made a bracket for my carb throttle cable and return spring that will keep the fuel regulator on the drivers side. Wanted to keep it away from the heat. Also made a new charge pipe that fits a little better. Hoping to get enough done to it this weekend to be able to start it up

Who did the carb Chris? C&S?
No I wish. It's an off the shelf quick fuel blow through.
No BOV?
And wrap yo pipe
Blow off valves are for pussies......
Which is why I still need to weld it on. Also adding a pressure transducer and an iat port. I've also got a ton of wrap to go on after I start up and make sure everything looks good
Blowthrough LTX ftw!!!

Got called in to work yesterday which set me back. I should be able to get it started sometime this week if everything goes well. I'm pretty happy with the hood clearance. Hard to tell in the pic but there's a good inch and a half above the carb hat and piping. The throttle cable/ regulator bracket works pretty well. I was able to get everything on there with no clearance issues. I'm ready for this turd to run now
Im excited for this thing. Love all ur builds.
