Good choice. Karl is a great guy to work with.

ya my buddy bought a set of them last winter when he put a different cam in the car, he sent me some comparison pics to an ls7 and i think some comps and those johnson lifters looked like a tank compared to the other ones.
do you have any intentions of coming to the shootout and running true street !?
I would like to in the future but definitely not this year. Car still has a long way to go. Hopefully all of the kinks will be worked out by the end of summer and I'll have it dialed in at the track. Then I can start searching for a blower if I have enough saved up by then.
I was told between 1-2 months for the shortblock to be done. I have plenty of work to do in the meantime:
-Expand intake bolt holes
-Find solution for MAP/IAT sensors
-Make angle washers
-Make fuel rails and mounting brackets (with FPR)
-Make AN fuel hoses
-Drill and tap heads for center 4 intake bolts
-Plug unused timing cover holes
-Repin wiring harness
-Cut a few gaskets
-Drill and tap sheared EWP bolt
-Recondition Harwood (or sell/trade for something else... kinda want the non-ramair one)
-Have heads milled to clean up scratching, CC, remove material if needed
When I get the shortblock:
-Check bellhousing alignment
-Check PTV
-Put engine in car and bolt heads on
-Assemble valvetrain, intake, everything else
-Reassemble car with fancy exhaust
-Drive
If you are def going boosted later, get a IAT with a threaded boss from a cylcone or similar and weld a threaded bung into your cold side. Plug and play with OEM stuff that can't blow out from boost.
As far as MAP goes, I machined my intake elbow and mounted it there to avoid the every so cheesy rubber hose attached to and just floating somewhere.
I was thinking about drilling a hole in the side of the plenum across from the brake booster hole and mounting a ZR1 3 bar MAP. I could put it in the elbow somewhere but I think the divider would throw off readings.
That or just piggy back off of the brake booster using a block.
Dropped everything off today. Karl told me he'll be headed to the machine shop Monday or Tuesday so block and balancing work can start.
A dedicated map port would be ideal. I have seen stuff like this but I doubt cars with vac blocks have power brakes.

I'm ordering the ZR1 MAP (12592525) + pigtail and Delphi TS10077 IAT.
Also need a tap for the rail ends (7/8-14 = -10an I think?) and the fancy injector boss drill bit from Ross.
What sort of elbow do you have?

Was thinking about drilling/tapping another hole on the front. Don't think the map would be able to mount there bc not enough space. Might have to run a hose and mount the map nearby.
