Just ordered all the parts needed. $423 for the upper timing chain tensioners and a set of valve cover gaskets. Amazingly, the valve cover gaskets were $18.99 each at this online audi wholesaler (dealer in Alexandria VA apparently, kind of like Jason Cromer @ Sam Taylor Buick Cadillac was) and they are the same price for the big box store aftermarket ones. Tensioners.....there's NOTHING aftermarket available, so I looked for the best price I could find. $150 for the right, $220 for the left. I COULD have gone to ebay and gotten china ones for $200 for the pair, but I am becoming less and less forgiving and trusting of the china crap.

150k... its a 2001 (so its the other body style...
Dealer will replace passenger side headlight housing.
Negotiated guy to 2500 out the door.... not a bad deal.
Interior is mint.

Yeah, that back end is god awful for some reason. I think a lip spoiler would help it tremendously. Nice cars, but really about the same size inside as a same year Passat, which is still pretty small.
That car looks pretty good for the age/miles. I'm noticing that Audi's tend to hold up rather well outside unless the owner just blatantly ignores taking care of it.

Ur prob right. Some type of small spoiler would help. I have never been in a passat.. but at 6'4" I thought that a6 was very roomy.

Maybe they are bigger in the inside than the like year Passat. I drove one of the Passat's (an 01 I believe) and I thought it was borderline.......only marginally bigger than a jetta inside, and I'm NOT comfortable in those year jettas. I figured those A6's would be the same. The one I've got........EVERY time I sit in it I want to keep it. But wifey is pressuring me to flip too (I think she wants the Vette back also, either to drive herself or to quit hearing me whine about losing it).

Lol... keep it and get the vette. Lose the celica and sell the ta (not my first choice).. if thats what would make u guys happier. If its quatro...then even more reason to keep it.

Btw... he bought that 01. Got it for 2200 out the door with 2 new tires on it... I was impressed.
