Hit one large snag, while doing this I managed to hit the oil pan on the rack and pinion. Causing a very loud tappin noise. Luckily motor only had to be raised as far up as possible and cradle dropped a few inches to get the pan off.
Here is what the LT1 looked like inside surprisingly Car had 121K so expected it to look worse

here you can see where the crank or rods were hitting the pan, hammered the pan and reinstalled and no more noise
