In PA do law enforcement vehicles HAVE to have the "X" in the license plate? Lastly - and Larry, please give input on this idea - if the guy is that bad about hiding himself while he's apparently stalking you in the parking lots or at your house, instead of completely walking up to the vehicle, what about having an obvious digital camera and being obvious about taking pictures of the guy's car while he drives by and/or is hiding in the parking spaces? Sometimes doing that will spook people off. My mom told me she had a guy in front of her that was totally "road raging" her - brake checking and trying to run her off the road. She took her cell phone out and pretended to take pictures of his car and his license plate and then pretended like she was calling someone and the guy got so spooked out he pulled a U-turn and zoomed off.

OK, well...in PA... Unmarked Law Enforcement vehicles are not required to carry MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT plates... In fact to make the vehicles blend in better, the plates are usually regular civilian tags (until you try to run one....then federal vehicles come back with no records....) Marked patrol vehicles carry the Municiple Government "MG" tags which are blue with white writting...mainly because they get registered once in their life time...... Even our highway dept trucks carry those tags....

NOW, as for the video thing.... I am going to err on safety side, and say...if you want to document...do it inconspicuously.... being in the PEOPLE business for years has taught me that just because one person can be intimidated by being on camera..... the next person may be enraged, and it may be that moment when they are going to snap....

And not that the person with the camera would be doing anything wrong...BUT.......when they snap... it could be for any reason...

NOW We are making lots of assumptions about this entire situation based on one side of the story... for all we know it could be a sales man who is stealing wifi conection from the same location...... If you can assume the worst...we must also assume the not so bad...

Again... as a Police Officer.... I would tell any resident in the twp... If you see something weird...suspicious....scary.... whatever... CALL the Police...Call 911.... but by no means do you approach or instigate.... No matter how ARMED or TOUGH, or BRAVE you may feel..... It complicates things that can other wise be much more simple......

In NC, our marked LE vehicles have silver and black permanent tags, unmarked cars run a standard issue tag. Sometimes its hard to spot UM's, but all have blacked out windows so its usually a give away. Is there a light bar inside the car, several antennas, or anything else that would be a give away as to LEO?

Interesting - as far as I know all police vehicles in MI have the "x" in the license plate. So thankful for that because it's how I know whether to slow down or not if I'm approaching a crown vic in traffic. :lol: Ex cop cars are a dime a dozen here in the Detroit area... many of them still with the brush guards, spotlights, and even antennas attached to the body. Makes it extremely hard to identify unless you're behind the car and can see the license plate.

Even better... take a look at our unmarked...its a used Mercury Gran Marquis..... not a ford...not a Police Interceptor.... not a crown vic... does not even have the dual exhaust tips..... just a run of the mill Grampa Merc.... lol

I did not see an X on the plates. One thing to add though about the sticker... I couldn't quite tell if it was one of those stickers that you can only see at certain angles, OR possibly could have been the absence of a sticker that used to be there (good indication that it is an out-of-service police vehicle). And this was big POLICE letters going down the sides of the car. Anyways, I haven't seen it since the day I posted. I know you guys are only hearing my side of the story, but I wouldn't of even posted the question if I wasn't pretty suspicious. Like I said, about 2 weeks now, it was almost systematic. Slow drive by twice (that I saw) per day at several hours interval, only saw it about two days of each week. Also, my brother walked out of the house and saw it parked behind my truck and left shortly after he came outside. Now yes, that made me suspicious, however the real turning point for me was the parking lot deal... I have no intention of approaching him anymore since Larry gave me some things to think about. For all I know though, I may never see him again.

The removed stickers is def a good sign that it is out of service... and again...like we say for many different things.... If you didnt do or have not done anything wrong... dont worry about Law Enforcement..... and use us to your advantage to approach the idividual for you.

Will do... I hope it doesn't come to that though. I think my biggest issue with this whole thing is the unknown factor. Why? I have no one in mind that would possibly have a reason to watch me or hire someone to watch me. Just UC, but even then, why tail me for this long when I haven't been abusing the benefits. I feel like their time and money could be much better spent on people who are actually abusing the benefits. Hell, even if a few people here and there get a little more than they probably should, I'm sure that is nothing compared to some of these people living off UC and just being flat out lazy. In a way, I would like to see him again just to get a chance to gather some evidence and figure out WHY they are there to begin with.
